LISTEN: That's Tan Safi, a member of the Media Team for the Freedom Flotilla Coalition , speaking with Women on the Line from Istanbul on May 1.
The Freedom Flotilla Coalition is a longstanding international grassroots solidarity movement which aims to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid by sea. They currently have 5,500 tonnes of vital aid waiting to depart from Istanbul.
Tan provides an update on what has been happening since the Flotilla was unable to set sail on its scheduled departure date of April 26 due to having its flag or maritime registration revoked by the state of Guinea-Bissau.
We also hear excerpts of Freedom Flotilla Coaltion organiser Huwaida Arraf speaking at a press conference in Istanbul on April 27 following the removal of the flag.
Since our conversation with Tan, the attack on Rafah has begun and Gaza's borders have once again been sealed, making the need for food, water and medical necessities for the people of Gaza even more urgent.

LISTEN: That's Danielle from The Save Public Housing Collective speaking about the public housing waitlist.
This week on the show we look at the Victorian State Government plan to 'retire and transform' 44 public housing towers in narrm Melbourne.
While the state government is selling the scheme as an opportunity for improvement and renewal, those against the plan describe a poorly thought through strategy with zero consultation of residents, few answers on where displaced tenants will go and underlying questions around the privatisation of public housing and the motivations of accessing high value inner city real estate.
Danielle speaks with us about community resistance to the plan, and the push to create viable public housing.
