💥15 years ago, in July 2009, Off The Hip Records reissued the seminal Little Murders album “Stop plus Singles 1978 - 1986” on CD w/ comprehensive 24 page booklet, reigniting Rob Griffiths’ musical career. Since then we’ve released, on average, a new title of Rob’s each year; CDs, LPs, 7”s, for both Little Murders and Rob’s pre-LM outfit The Fiction, and most recently his memoir “Don’t Let Go”, which in many ways is an expansion of the “Stop plus Singles” booklet…clocking in at an impressive 172 A4 pages.

In our 22years of being a label Rob is our most prolific artist to date, and with a new Little Murders album currently at the mastering stage, plus an album’s worth of tunes for the next Stoneage Hearts album in the bag, plus a glam album under the guise of T-Ram, and an impending tour of Japan this September, he’s not looking like slowing any time soon.

Rob says “It’s taken a while since inception but finally, my book is ready to be unleashed on the world. Titled “Don’t Let Go, A Memoir” it’s basically a journey from growing up listening to pop music in Blackpool, England, Glam rock, Punk Rock, (the Melbourne scene and forming bands The Fiction & Little Murders) Mod and Power Pop through to DJing at nightclubs Rubber Soul, Barbarellas and the Beehive. Starting my own club the Lizard Lounge and then back to making albums with Little Murders and The Fiction in the new century and touring Japan. I have also included lots of flyers, pics and posters from each step of the journey.”

Published by Off The Hip and Swerve Records, the books first edition is due back from the printers first week of June. 172 pages, including lotsa colour pix, flyers & posters.

14 pop punk instant classics from a band formed 45 years ago at the dawn of the Australian punk revolution.

Presenting the new album by The Fiction “Hollywood” 13 new songs plus a return to an original composition from 1978 “Negative Fun” all written by lead singer Rob Griffiths (Little Murders) and produced by Rob Wellington (ex International Exiles) at his own Princess Studios. Rob also plays lead guitar along with Rusty Teluk (ex Cold Harbour), bass is Adam Learner (ex Blue Ruin) and drums by Al Murphy. The album features the single “Almost Dead in Hollywood/ La Dolce Vida”

In 1978, The Fiction were one of the handful of bands on the emerging Melbourne, Australia punk /new wave scene. The songs were fast high-energy pop-punk looking towards bands like the Undertones and Buzzcocks with a dash of the Saints. They only lasted a year but before they broke up they recorded a few tracks in January 1979 on a 4 track TEAC out in the country. The tracks Things Will Be Different & Take Me I’m Yours would be released in August 1979 on Au-Go-Go but under the name Little Murders.

40 years later Off The Hip heard a rehearsal tape of the Fiction recorded in early 78 before the band had even played a gig and loved it. And released it as the NEGATIVE FUN album. Rob Griffiths and Rob Wellington formed a new Fiction to go out and play the album. It was so much fun they decided to record a brand new Fiction album in 2019 which would kick off where they left off. It was called RAMONA. This was followed by a Japan tour and a lot of gigging including supporting Stiff Little Fingers.

Also due for release in 2024 on OFF THE HIP; new albums from Little Murders & The Stoneage Hearts (featuring Rob Griffiths on vocals/songwriting) and a Rob Griffiths autobiography.

Back in July 2009 we released “Stop! Plus Singles ‘78-‘84”, a reissue/compilation of early material from Melbourne Mod/Powerpop band Little Murders.

Since then, Off The Hip have proudly released the music of Rob Griffiths & co., inc new studio albums, a best of comp, CDs, LPs & 7”s, not only from Little Murders but also Rob’s Pre-Murders outfit The Fiction.
