Giving edit notes is an important part of the post-production process. As much as we’d love to deliver the perfect video in the first version, sometimes reality has a different script!
In this video, Rob is here to share his three tips for giving feedback on your video:
1. Be Specific: The more specific you are with your feedback, the less guesswork there will be, and the easier it will be to action the feedback.
2. Collate Your Feedback: Trickling through feedback can slow down the editing process. Collating feedback from all the key stakeholders on a project before you hit send will help you get to the finished version quicker. It’s like gathering all your leaves before the wind blows them away!
3. Fix it in Pre: The clearer the idea you have for your video before the record button is hit, the clearer the picture will be at the end of the day when the captured material hits the edit suite. Think of it as planting the right seeds to grow the perfect tree!

Training material can be an important asset for your business. And guess what? One of the best forms that training material can take is video—it’s like adding a splash of fun to learning!
In this video, Chase goes through her top three tips for getting the most out of your training films.
1. Script Before You Shoot: Make sure to lock in your script before you hit the record button. Ensuring that all the content has been reviewed and signed off will help prevent the need for any re-shoots later. Having a finalised script will also provide a clear roadmap for capturing all the supporting visuals on the day of filming.
2. Team Members Are Stars: Your team members make fantastic talent. Typically, when creating training films, team members will be used as talent. This is great because they’re already familiar with the content they’ll be discussing. Even if your team members haven’t had much experience in front of the camera, we’ll work with them to make them feel as comfortable as possible on the day of the shoot.
3. Include key stakeholders: Work with all the key stakeholders involved in the training content. Getting input from everyone involved in creating the training film’s content is crucial. This will trim down the number of changes and potential re-shoots needed after the first round of edits have been put together.

Balloon Tree Productions 10th Birthday
10 years ago to this very day, I started Balloon Tree Productions.
This amounts to just shy of 1/3rd of my life and almost all of my professional career. So safe to say I'm feeling all sorts of emotions today. It's probably more cyclical than I'd like it to have been (who would have thought 10 years ago I'd still be working from a desk in a bedroom...) but it's shaped me more than I could possibly imagine.
I'm thrilled to have been able to reach out to so many collaborators, colleagues, friends and family to pull together a memento for the occasion. It's reflective, a bit self-congratulatory and an absolute treat to see the faces of so many people I adore and adore working with.
Honestly - thank you doesn't do justice to all of those people along the journey who have played some part in this 10 year milestone.
I'd love to know if you have any memories or anecdotes - please share because I've got all the nostalgic fuzzies and want to preserve it for the next 10 years.
