💸💲COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY 💸💲

🔍🕵️‍♀️ Local businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit currency in particular Chinese Training Notes (CTN)🔍🕵️‍♀️

Police have received a report from a local business where an offender purchased goods using a CTN$50.00. Despite the large foreign text printed on them, the counterfeit notes are described as of good quality and feel compared to genuine currency.

Police urge all businesses to be vigilant and to inform staff of CTN circulating in the local area to purchase goods. CTN are not illegal to have, however it is illegal when someone uses them to buy goods.

Their purpose is to train bank staff, educate foreign nationals and children about currency and/or for use as movie props or as ‘play money’ for card games. 👀🔍 What to look for:- CTN’s are recognisable by large Chinese characters (usually pink or blue in colour) located in the bottom corner of the notes.
