🤩 Did you get to the Southside ART Market today? If you haven’t yet, it finishes at 1:30 and is well worth a stop in, but if you don’t get there today, give them a follow to check out the featured artists and get notified of future dates
😎 I finally got to meet Deb, who’s beautiful Queensland artwork Debra Hilda Hood I’ve been following for awhile. She is hoping to push for a bin chicken Olympics mascot and I am just in love with Brizzie bin chicken. The .lordmayor may need to meet Deb so she can convince him - what do you think? Would you support an iconic bin chicken mascot?!
🤍 I also took home a beautiful piece of pottery from Tina Rolley Ceramics- it was lovely to chat to Tina’s sister Lisa and her husband Des at the stall and hear about some future artists retreats and workshops they are planning too Pie Creek Studio and Farm
🫣 I was tempted to buy something from everyone, but for those I missed I got business cards - especially for the sparkly coffee ‘mug’ that my friend Jane would love ✨and some other pieces of pottery I can’t decide if I’ll be buying for myself or my friends in the future 😉
🤍 Thank you to all the artists for their beautiful and wonderful work. I can’t wait for the next market!
🤍 A hidden gem tucked away on Corio St behind the Bulimba Memorial Park, is a friendly and peaceful little spot with some seriously delicious food
🍃 Boasting a small but full of flavour menu, expect Mediterranean / Turkish flavours alongside great coffee and pastries
🤍 I loved all of the beautiful greenery that fills the cafe, and am a little jealous I can’t get my own fiddle leaf fig to match the stunning ones inside 😅
🍃 At the moment they are open Friday-Sunday from 7am, but I hear they are also looking into dinners as well as art classes with the space next door, so I’ll be keeping my eye out for whatever they put on next

🤍 Just a little throwback Thursday to the last Glad Rags Markets held Bulimba Community Centre
💚 If you haven’t been before, it’s full of great pre-loved fashion finds from your cute basics to high end bargains (yes, that’s a Zimmermann dress I’m holding 😉). They’ve also started working with charities like if you want to donate anything 😇
🤍 Another great part of stopping by is the beautiful Claire, who not only runs the markets but is now the President of the Centre. She has done a fabulous job of building up the markets - organising live music, sweet treats and special guests - and I’m so excited to see and get involved in the new projects and initiatives that she said the community centre has coming up!

❤️ Thank you to our former and current servicemen and women who we remember and pay respect to today - and thank you to the schools, RSL’s and organisations who put on such beautiful services and marches yesterday and today. I know that the service I attended was a beautiful tribute to our ANZACs and the sacrifices they have made and continue to make for us all.
🤍 We all remember and pay our respects in our own ways, and besides the service I attended, my family and I spent time this afternoon together baking ANZAC biscuits and enjoying the privilege of having the day at home

🤍 Here are a few local services and events for Tuesday, but there’s also a number of businesses in our community open for you and your family to spend time together and commemorate
🤩 It’s a big weekend around Brisbane, with everything from farmers markets to Dolphins NRL at Suncorp, but here are a few things happening close to home that are going to be great!
🎆 On Saturday, from 12-8pm is Makers on the River where there will be food trucks, kids entertainment, fireworks and more!
🎉 Saturday night is hosting it’s White Havana party from 5pm
🎥From 6pm Saturday you can also catch Hop with the family
🛍️ On Sunday from 8-12 you can grab a sausage sizzle and do some second hand shopping who is also teaming up with
🥳Sunday also features the Kenrose Street Festival hosted by a variety of businesses and promising great food and family fun from 4-8pm

🥐🍫 Flour and Chocolate is a delicious institution here in Morningside and they recently opened Knead Gelato right next door, so of course I needed to indulge in ice cream after buying some bagels this afternoon 🥯🤤
🍦There were so many yummy flavours it was a difficult decision what to choose… in fact I had to get two scoops because I couldn’t decide! It was so delicious even Elsie couldn’t resist 😉

🤍 Elsie and I enjoyed a quick visit to our local Source Bulk Foods in Bulimba this morning to pick up a jar of ANZAC biscuit mix
🍫I also swapped my usual guilty pleasure of chocolate moon macadamias for the new apricot slice, rainforest honey and apple slices - which Elsie got one of for being a good girl, of course 😉
❤️ As an added bonus, for the next month until Mothers Day, members go in the draw to win a grazing board and voucher, so make sure you get in and support Abbie at your local Source 😎

🐾 Have you been lucky enough to visit Mitch and his team at The Trusty Dog Wash yet?
🐶 Many may know Mitch from his mobile service, but last September he moved his small business into a shopfront on Kenrose street and, to be honest, it feels like he’s been there forever!
🐾 He has added extra staff, including a vet nurse, but still has a welcoming, personal service. It’s clear everyone there has a true love of dogs, especially BIG dogs which Mitch has special equipment and training to help support and ease any anxiety dogs might have
🤍 I’ve recommended so many friends who have all come back and said how amazing (and affordable!) The Trusty Dog Wash is and I’m not surprised in the slightest - Elsie even gets excited to see Mitch and she is normally a bit skiddish around groomers (aka hard work 😅😂)
🐾 If you haven’t been yet, be sure to book in and visit the beautiful little shop on Kenrose
❤️ We promised our daughter a special valentines dinner tonight and I think she is really going to love this baby cake from - how cute (and delicious) does it look?!

Did you hear? has re-opened after nearly a year!!
It’s hard to believe that almost a year ago everything was underwater - I distinctly remember kayaking out of my house - and so many other households and businesses were affected.
It’s great to see that Kenrose Bakery is back and more beautiful than ever 😎 Wishing them all the best on their re-opening, I know the community is excited to have them back

😎 The new AIR exhibit features some interesting and awesome pieces and afterwards we took the little one down to the kids art centre where we practiced our artist etching and paper weaving
🎨 We love GOMA and definitely recommend paying it a visit - better yet, make a day of it and check out the other museums and grab lunch at one of the yummy places nearby (Julius Pizzeria is definitely a good choice 👌🏼😉)
🥊 I’ve been going to Harry’s gym since I moved back to Australia in 2015 and what keeps me coming back are the true friendships and family that this place has created - Elsie has even become a well known member of the gym family!

👏🏼There’s a new kid on the block in the old Sizzler building at Carindale
🐕 is an adventure day care for dogs and it is very cool!
🐾 I checked my two furry kids in this morning on my way to work and picked them up after. A trainer ‘debriefed’ me on how the dogs went with the other dogs, going up and down steps and through tunnels and they shared a few photos and videos of the day too
🥳 The dogs looked like they had fun and were active for the day (much better than digging a hole in the yard!)
😎 If you’ve got a furry friend, this is a really cool way to give them an active and social outing while you’re at work

🫣After all the rain and dusty wind, the girls were looking, feeling and smelling a little on the rough side (swipe to see their ‘before’ pic)
🤩 Mitchell from the Trusty Dog Wash on Kenrose Street was an absolute legend: not only was I able to squeeze in last minute, but he allowed me to fit it all in around my work breaks, which was an absolute lifesaver
😎 The pups can see without all the fur in their eyes, and they’ll get a lot more pats now that they’re so soft and clean which they’ll be very happy about! 😂

🍎 students have been working with ZONTA and the Mater to support women with breast cancer by giving up their time and energy to sew breast cushions to make life just that little bit easier while recovering from surgery. Absolutely hats off to the social justice committee staff and students and the school for supporting the community in such a positive way!

🌪️ It’s been a whirlwind busy weekend in my household, so can’t think of anything better than relaxing on the couch and watching a bit of tv.
