More than four decades today Gwen Grover lost her life.
A victim of domestic violence, her death was made to look like a su***de.
The su***de ruling was recently overturned by the District Court thanks to the relentless efforts of her sister Sue Cole.
Sue often jokes that Gwen would tell her to stop making such a fuss, but undoubtedly, she'd also be so proud and touched by her sister's love and devotion.
From Sue:
In Loving Memory of My Beautiful Sister Gwen
Forty-two years ago today, we lost you—and not a day has passed that I haven’t thought of you.
Your light, your laughter, your love… all remain etched in my heart.
I will never forget you. And I will never stop fighting for your memory, your truth, and your legacy.
On days like today, I find comfort in the words of one of your favourite songs that always brings me closer to you:
"In the twilight glow I see
Blue eyes crying in the rain
When we kissed goodbye and parted
I knew we’d never meet again
Someday when we meet up yonder
We’ll stroll hand in hand again
In a land that knows no parting
Blue eyes crying in the rain"
Song by Willie Nelson
