Queensland Police have charged a 38-year-old Albion man following the discovery of an alleged clandestine drug laboratory in Pinkenba yesterday, Tuesday, March 6.
As part of a major drug trafficking operation, Operation Victor Carpenter, detectives from Carseldine Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) executed a search warrant at a Lavarack Avenue property where they allegedly located a commercial pill press and illicit laboratory equipment suspected of being used to produce methamphetamine, cocaine and ketamine.
The search also resulted in allegedly locating a number of other items, including $583,000 worth of cash, a large amount of glassware, cooking implements, containers, electrical equipment and chemicals, as well as a cash counting machine, hand gun and silencer.
A 38-year-old Albion man was arrested at Brisbane International Airport yesterday and charged with 12 offences.
These include two counts each of possessing relevant substances and possessing dangerous drugs (Schedule 1), and one count each of unlawful possession of weapons, trafficking in dangerous drugs, producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything for use in the commission of crime, dealing in proceeds of crime, authority required to possess explosives and attempted possession of commercial quantities of unlawfully imported border controlled drugs.
He is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court today, June 7.

Here is an update on the fatal Queensland shooting which claimed the life of two police officers and an innocent neighbour.
Three people are dead including two police officers after an ugly gunfight last night in Wieambilla near Chinchilla. Three gunmen have been shot dead by police after they hid in bushes when four police officers attended the the property investigating a missing person case that was issued by NSW police. 2 officers were shot and pronounced dead at the scene while a third officer received a bullet graze and the fourth managed to escape. She was only just 8 weeks into her role as an officer. Police commissioner Katarina Carroll said every Queenslanders heart is aching. Now, here at the police headquarters in Brisbane, multiple floral tributes have been left where Queensland Police mourn two of their own killed in a planned execution.
