27 March SRH service program feedback

On the 27th day of March 2024 a number of service providers visited Hatcliffe youth and adolescents at Hatcliffe community hall, Many young people and adolescents attended the program which was rich in information /knowledge ,the service providers who were present are as follows Ministry of Youth Empowerment ,Development and Vocational Training which was the leading ministry ,Chiedza ,Population service of Zimbabwe PSZ ,Hatcliffe poly clinic ,and Dialogue on shelter.

The abbreviation of SRH is s*xual reproductive health, the definition of s*xual reproductive health simply is the preventive measures undertaken by an individual to ensure that one’s s*xual life is safe and free from complications that comes with negligence to s*xual life self-care ,it is a state of complete physical ,mental and social wellbeing in all matters relating to the reproductive system.it implies that people are able to have a satisfying and safe s*x life ,the capability to reproduce and freedom to decide if ,when and how often to do so.

18 years of age is the rightful legal age a person is allowed to indulge in s*xual activities, but 16 years is the marked age a person is allowed to indulge according to the law induced by the Zimbabwean government at this age a girl is permitted to seek family planning such as jadel implantation for the purposes of safeguarding oneself from being pregnant.

Indulging in s*xual activity is said to be ones choice /decision but a wise person abstain from s*xual activities before the rightful time reaches .The scarcity of a product on the market appreciates its value and its demand becomes elastic, same as abstaining from s*xual activities before the rightful time, young girls keep yourselves for yourselves and for your future partners keep your value intact, do not be an easily available product on market, appreciate your value by being scarce.

Education of young people regarding s*xual reproductive health comes with various benefits .The contracting of many s*xual comorbidities is a result of lack of knowledge or education, with full knowledge of the dangers that comes with early s*x engagement and risks associated with the practice of s*xual activities without protective measures through education young people are bound to protect themselves.

Service providers were urged to introduce engaging activities like entertainment during mobilization periods so as to grab the attention of the targeted audiences which are service beneficiaries .Also activities like ball games were highly encouraged for the sake of mobilizing young people who are prone to be triggered by playful activities more than social activities .These engaging activities likely they encourage young people to attend activities in the process consume information dished out by service providers during program ongoing .

Many young people raised concerns that there hindrance’s to information access regarding where to acquire SRH services, also there is information distortion from other young people, and many youth are ending up given misconceptions of how hospital staff tend to treat service seekers. Some raised concerns that the staff at local clinics is difficult to deal with since some insults patients during service seeking period. However young people were urged to use suggestion box to report if they happen to encounter any mistreatment at health service centers.

Apart from contributions from young people, Service providers were given the floor to present what they do and how they assist individuals .Present service providers took turns to introduce themselves and their areas of specialty.

Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training was the leading ministry steering the program by playing huge roles in introducing service providers at the same time addressing some of the raised issues that needed clarification for the purposes of better understanding to the targeted audiences. Mr Simon Zinhoro a representative from Ministry of youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational training spearheaded the dialogue which was fruitful and by all means he used his leading power to maintain a peaceful dialogue at the same time managing time in alignment to the program schedule.

The first service provider to educate young people and adults was Chiedza which deals with HIV testing, family planning and STI screening services .One of their program which impacted young people in communities took place in April 19 and ended on 22 February .Their program was focusing on engaging young people for HIV testing at the same time educating young people that knowing your status is the beginning of the journey to live , their program assisted in letting young people know that it is not scary to be aware of your status instead it encourages one to make informed decisions regarding to s*xual engaging activities. The outcomes of their program is ,young people were engaged in higher numbers of a total of 37000 young people and total visits to service center amounted to 78000 young people which is a total of 83 % in every 100 were eligible to be tested .Male youth were said they cooperated intensively since they were being educated during messaging’s. Chiedza encouraged the introduction of activities that are likely to keep certain audience engaged during programs .For instance when targeting male young people the use of snooker has a capacity to cultivate multitude of young people.

Hatcliffe poly clinic came through with male circumcision education. The moderator emphasized that smartness of the male organ [p***s] comes with various advantages, a circumcised organ is not smelly, it has reduced risks to contract or develop penal cancer which is caused by the bacteria that accumulates inside the fo****in and that bacteria then enters through the small opening of the male s*x organ and blocks the bladder which then will cause the development of the penal cancer .The bacteria also has an effect to cause contamination of the woman’s womb .It leads to the removal of the woman’s womb after infection since the bacteria causes womb cancer .it takes 3 years before the infection affects the woman’s womb.

Lastly of the service providers was population Service of Zimbabwe [PSZ], who came through powerfully with educative insights on the family planning methods. These family planning methods were categorized in three groups, short term, long term and life term. Short term methods consists of oral contraceptives and depo implantation. Long term methods include loops and jadel .lastly life term method we have tuberlisation which is a permanent solution of family planning. woman were highly urged to decide thoroughly first before they seek family planning method .For instance looking at life long term method of family planning[tuberlisation] it is a permanent method it is a life term commitment one has to make a rationale decision not to make an emotional decision.

In conclusion SRH services are essential since they promote and create well informed communities .Dialogue on shelter concluded the program wrapping with a summarization of the importance of seeking SRH services for better well-being of a person .Speculation from other youths hinted the air with the mis use of condoms which are being used to make cobra and some using the lubricant as face oil for beautification purposes, instead of proper use of the products to safeguard one’s life from contracting s*xual transmitted diseases. Mr Artwell Nyirenda ended up saying ‘’seek SRH services earlier rather than seeking them after the damage has been made’’. In his closing line he said, ‘’do not feel shy to seek services that prolong your life span, safeguard yourself always’’

Hatcliffe community in partnership with several Government Ministries ,have come up with an initiative which seeks to promote access to s*xual Reproductive Health Services [SRH] for the youth of Hatcliffe .

An outreach program is being held [today] Wednesday 27th day of march 2024 ,venue at community Hall starting at 8:30am .

Hatcliffe youths will be able to gain access to free SRH services offered by various health service providers, this include HIV testing ,PREP ,Family planning etc. Be educated and become aware.

The program is open to all young people. Knowledge is power and the key to safety.

Males and females ,and young couples are highly encouraged to attend the outreach program so that they get enriched with Sexual Reproductive Health information and also access free service deliveries by various service providers present at the site.

PARENTS YOU ARE URGED TO ENCOURAGE YOUR TEENAGE CHILDREN TO ATTEND THE OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR THEIR OWN BENEFIT PUPORSES.

LETS CREATE AND NATURE RESPONSIBLE YOUNG PEOPLE TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY.

All woman and man who are seeking birth control solutions visit Hatcliffe polyclinic for a family planning solution as it is wise to prepare and plan your family baby production.

Birth control measures to be conducted are as follows: condoms, pills, counselling ,loop, implants[jadelle ,levoplant implanon ] ,tubal ligation, male sterilization and depo.

ORAL POLIO VACCINATION CAMPAIGN ROLLOUT IN HATCLIFFE

The ministry of health and child care is conducting polio oral vaccination campaign in Hatcliffe from 26th-29th day of February 2024 .

The polio vaccine will be administered to minors age ranging from newly born babies -to under 10years.

A team of nurses from Hatcliffe 1 polyclinic shall be conducting the procedure through mobile moving around the community administering the polio oral vaccination using the same process they conducted the recently ended cholera vaccination exercise.

All parents are urged to complying, ensuring that they do not miss this health regulated campaign by making sure that their kids receive without fail polio oral vaccination either at school or at home, also oral consent from parents to kids to be vaccinated is emphasized so as to avoid resistance from kids who are accustomed to do things through their parents consent.

The kids especially from creche are subjected to bring their clinic cards or baby cards for recording after given the polio oral dosage, to those kids who lost their cards or who never had one they will be given new cards aswell.

Greetings Hatcliffe residents. Please be advised that the Ministry of Health and Child Care shall conduct the Polio SIA Round 4 campaign (Supplementary Immunisation Activities - SIA) from 10 to 13 October 2023. The campaign aims to immunise ALL children aged between 0 - 59 months who live in Hatcliffe and its surrounding areas against this deadly disease. Mobile teams from Hatcliffe 1 Polyclinic shall be deployed in the community to conduct the exercise. We shall notify you of their itinerary in due course. Waste management in community has been a major problem , illegal dumpsites developed due to inconsistence refuse collection by the city council due to some reasons that are inline with limited number of waste trucks to collect garbage , however Hatcliffe newspaper update team is pleased to announce the end of the problem since the Harare city council had received 5 brand new trucks to serve refuse collection purposes.

"Council received 5 tipper trucks meant for dump clearance ,5 more to be procured.
Of late council waste department had no trucks for dump clearance, In Hatcliffe the dump clearance exercise will be done end of June 2022" said cllr Elvis Ruzani in his statement.

The 3rd day of may 2022 at around 12:00pm,A MAN delivery truck from Pro feeds has toppled along Domboshava road at winchedon where it was delivering poultry feed.

The 24/7 link.com attained information on the scene of the accident , According to the driver who sustained severe head injuries said that, "the truck was moving at a moderate speed but however has toppled due to 2 faulty wheels that detached from the vehicle which has caused the heavy truck to lie on its left side".

In a report from witnesses who were on the accident scene when it transpired, a young man who was walking along the the road almost got hit since he was a few metres away from the truck and he was in shock as well.

The Zimbabwe Republic police members attended the accident scene
Half an hour from the time the accident occurred and collect statement's from the driver who escaped death miraculously.

Unfortunately we couldn't get a statement from ZRP staff directly , instead he was insisting and emphasizing that delivery vehicles and other vehicles need regular services for the convenience of the operators and third parties
safety has remained a major priority.
