FOUR PEOPLE PERISH IN A BUS & TAXI CRASH ON THE N1

MUSINA : Four lives have been lost on Limpopo roads, this in the Vhembe District on Sunday morning.

This after four people have been killed when the taxi they were traveling in collided with a bus on the N1 near Baobab tollgate outside Musina.

Three other passengers have been injured.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the taxi was trying to avoid another vehicle when it swerved towards on-coming traffic, and collided with the bus.

TRAFFIC ALERT | SCHOLAR TRANSPORT FERRYING RAINBOW COMBINED SCHOOL LEARNERS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON R36

MHLAVA : Scores of learners from Rainbow Combined School have been left traumatized following an accident on the R36.

This after a scholar transport ferrying learners from the Combined School was involved in an accident on the R36 road in Ka - Mhlava under Greater Tzaneen morning.

Eyewitnesses say an Iveco bus was attempting to overtake and hit the scholar transport and fell into a ditch.

No fatalities nor injuries have been reported in the crash as yet.

Emmergency Medical Services have been summoned to the scene.

Motorists are urged to approach the area with maximum caution.

TRAFFIC ALERT | THREE DIE IN A HORROR CRASH AT KA - MATIYANI

KA - MATIYANI : Three people have died and one seriously injured in a collision between two vehicles at Ka - Matiyani village on the Punda Maria road outside Malamulele in the Vhembe District.

The injured has been hospitalized.

According to information, a bakkie hit a truck at the rear.

Emmergency personnel are on the scene. Motorists are urged to approach the area with caution.

TZANEEN: A bus from Botlokwa ferrying ANC supporters en route to Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga has gone off the road and rolled approximately 20 meters down the steep embankment on the R71 Magoebaskloof, killing five occupants at around 3am.

TRAFFIC VOLUME EXPECTED TO PICK UP ON THE N1

POLOKWANE : Moderate to heavy traffic is expected on the N1, southbound towards Gauteng.

This as holiday makers return to Gauteng and other areas of the country as festive season approaches the end.

A significant number of vehicles is also expected on the R81, R71 to Polokwane, and the R25 between Groblersdal and Dennilton.

Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety says law enforcement officers are deployed at major routes and other critical points to manage the flow of traffic.

Impatient motorists at tollgates are warned against driving on the yellow lane or the wrong side of the road, as this causes more congestion, delays, and even accidents.

There is still heavy traffic on the R71 from Polokwane to Moria. It is however flowing, with no reports of congestion. Other areas within the province are reporting low to moderate traffic. All busy roads are being monitored by traffic officers on visible patrol.
