Woman owned Music Label based out of Washington DC. Unexpected Originals is built on a brotherhood of musicians, singers, songwriters, and producers. Originals??

Everything from conception to recordings done in house. Finally an independent music label that’s not designed to take advantage of people. Unexpected Originals music label was created as a means to recruit the quiet talents. A way to share what we've learned through research with gifted people who want their creations heard, and are consistent in self-motivation to write, produce, perform, etc. T

he name comes from the band name UNEXPECTED, which our label head and fearless female leader formed. Unexpected performed around the DC area, and could be considered a group of musical thinkers, always trying to surprise a crowd with song choices or playing styles. It made for a good transitional name. So instead of performing covers, they were creating something with these artist from scratch. We’re doing as much in house as we can. We’re building a musical family that can sit at the table and help one another with lyrics, with instrumentation, with composition…its going to be respected for its “WOMAN RUN” leadership, and its quiet takeover based on lasting tunes.
