Having now reached the milestone of 50 years in radio and 46 years with a beach music show. Bill has decided to retire. He wants to spend sometime just having fun and enjoying life. He will air his last beach music show at WKRX 96.7 Roxboro May 28th. He has been at the station for 30 years and will always cherish the wonderful memories of his listeners and sponsors. He has enjoyed spending Saturday afternoons providing years of beach music to his many fans that have listened for all those years. Feel free to call him at the station and wish him well. 336-599-0266. He will greatly appreciate it.
I have a feeling that you will be hearing from him in the near future. Don’t believe he will ever give up his beach music. He has mentioned also of bringing back our oldies show somehow also.

Roxboro Jaycees began our journey in 1955. Our 1st President was the Great Flem Whitt. So yes…. Flem Whitt was actually a person. But not just any person. A great leader, role model, Father, and over all great person that helped shape this organization. We honor his version and compassion to serve others this Saturday night. We are thankful that great leaders like Brian Crews John Bullock, John Evans and Robbie Carver helped start the Flem Whitt Beach Music Festival. It’s because of them to get that ball rolling that we have such a great night planned for Saturday night!! Remember this is just not any festival. Money raised goes toward a scholarship fund in which we award high school senior every year. So please come out. Let’s honor this great man this festival is named after. May Saturday night be one to remember forever!! Service to Humanity is the Best Work of Life!!!!
