Looks like Person County will need a big day today and tomorrow to break 2020's early and mail-in voting record.
Only 766 ballots were cast yesterday, taking the county's average below 2020's record-breaking 1,048 per day average.
Democratic voters have moved the party's turnout back into second place behind the county's unaffiliated voters in the last few days.
The early voting site at the County Office Building (304 S. Morgan St.) will be open until 7:30 p.m. today and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. tomorrow for the final day of early voting.
The deadline to register and vote on election day next Tuesday has passed, but anyone who is not currently registered can register and vote during the early voting period.
