Hi everyone!! Tomorrow’s episode of my radio show, 'Memos From the World' named “Folk: Character & Color” marks the conclusion of this semester’s chapter. We’ll listen to folk-inspired classical music from Italy, France, Scandinavia, and other regions/countries!

This playlist is centered around Antonín Dvořák’s String Quartet No. 12 in F Major popularly known as “the American Quartet.” Today’s episode explores the New England winter landscape with upbeat, complex, and hopeful melodies. Hope you can join me!

We'll listen to the powerful, resounding, and legendary music of the Civil Rights Movement and Apartheid, as well as spirituals, blues, excerpts from George Gershwin’s opera, Porgy and Bess, and an MLK Jr. speech.
