This Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 10 am, join Occupy the Airwaves hosts in conversation with Rose Webster-Smith and Tim Benoit from Springfield No One Leaves! Springfield No One Leaves (SNOL) is a grassroots member-led organization based in Springfield, and working across Western Massachusetts. They organize residents most directly impacted by the housing crisis and economic inequality to build collective power, defend against displacement and win long-term community ownership & control over land and housing.

Rose started with SNOL as a member in 2011 when Freddie Mac foreclosed on her home. In 2012, she came on as an independent contractor to organize the Fannie/Freddie Fighters in Western MA to uplift their cases and to mobilize them to NYC and Washington DC. In 2015, she was hired as the junior organizer and in 2016 the members took over the organization. After fighting an eviction for 6 years, she won her home back in 2017. She is now the Director overseeing all the work of SNOL.

Tim Benoit has lived in the valley since 2018 and has experienced houselessness and housing instability. He was hired at SNOL as a grant writer in April 2023 after months of volunteering and showing up in solidarity with members. Shortly afterwards, he took on the role of community organizer. Tim has been an integral part of growing the scope and strategy at SNOL, and he works to support the members and community across Western Mass.

Tune in and hear about SNOL's history, their current campaigns, and what keeps Rose and Tim in the struggle. Support their work: https://springfieldnooneleaves.org/

This Sunday, September 22, 2024, independent journalist, author, human rights activist and GenDemocracy founder Anne-christine d’Adesky joins Occupy the Airwaves co-hosts Emikan Sudan, Linda Ziegenbein and Stephen Linsky to discuss the GenDemocracy Stop the Coup 2025 campaign, a public education and mobilization campaign to raise awareness in multiple sectors about the scope of Project 2025's implications for U.S. federal democracy and civil rights and freedoms. The campaign’s website can be found at: www.StoptheCoup2025.org.

Since late 2023 this campaign has brought together NYC and LGBTQIA activists across the United States to mobilize against the anti-gender equality elements of Project 2025 and, in particular, exposing efforts by U.S. Christian evangelical forces led by former U.S. General Mike Flynn to promote project 19.
