Fab event last Saturday by Harlem Wellness Center on the topic of racial healing and thrilled to be on site to video interview many of the speakers. We're also honored that our CEO was named recently to the HWC Board! Congratulations to HWC Director Vivian Kurutz and her fab team for organizing this terrific speaker series in the beautiful Marcus Garvey Memorial Park, to include Vivian, NYC Parks Commissioner Mitch Silver, Harlem Run coach/runner Kai Ng, and the fabulous Soffiyah Elijah, director of the Alliance for Family Justice, among many others.

Rodney King, whose beating by the L.A. police was caught on a bystander’s video in 1991, did not get justice.

Thirty years later, George Floyd’s family — whose murder on May 24, 2020, was documented on mobile video by eye witnesses and seen by the world — heard a guilty verdict.

We stand in solidarity with the statement made today by our friends at Witness.org on the verdict and share it here, as it perfectly captures the sentiments of our team and those working with us in visual journalism and citizen video:

"Accountability does not equal justice. We shouldn’t need traumatic videos to show us that systemic racism and violent policing exists around the world. And one guilty verdict cannot bring back those who have lost their lives to police abuse.

We stand in solidarity with the millions of brave witnesses who keep filming, providing crucial evidence; the movements that continue to fight for justice and press for change; and all of you who speak truth to power."
