After how things ended for Aaron Rodgers last season, the star quarterback is avoiding injury as much as possible. That’s why he decided to take a step back in the preseason while preparing for a solid comeback next month.

This led to the ultimate question of whether the New York Jets will have the starting quarterback for the finale against the New York Giants. When asked about it after Saturday’s preseason game, head coach Robert Saleh disappointed fans by refusing to address questions about the quarterback’s presence in the preseason finale game. Interestingly, the situation with Rodgers isn’t very different as well.

Surprise AFC Team Lands New Orleans Saints Superstar Cornerback Marshon Lattimore In Blockbuster Trade Proposal That Would Make Them Super Bowl Contenders

A blockbuster trade proposal has the New Orleans Saints sending superstar cornerback Marshon Lattimore to an AFC team in a move that would drastically shake up the 2024 NFL playoff picture.

There aren’t any indicators that the Saints are open to trading Marshon Lattimore, who remains a core piece of a defense that has finished top-10 in scoring in each of the last four years.

But the Saints are in a miserable salary cap situation and must begin a rebuild sooner rather than later. So if the right offer came along for Lattimore, GM Mickey Loomis would have to be open to dealing his top defensive back.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine proposed a blockbuster trade idea that would see the Saints trading Marshon Lattimore to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft pick (via the Minnesota Vikings):

“The Jacksonville Jaguars are attempting to contend in an AFC that has a ton of firepower and elite quarterbacks. That requires an elite secondary that can contend with the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Joe Burrow.

Right now, the Jaguars have Tyson Campbell and Ronald Darby as starting outside corners with not a whole lot behind them. An injury to either of them would pose a serious issue for new defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen.

Nielsen made himself known as a defensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints. It might be time to get on the horn with his former team and see what it would take to bring in Marshon Lattimore.”

The four-time Pro Bowler has been limited to 17 total games over the last two years, so he’s missed the equivalent of a full season. New Orleans was just 4-3 without Lattimore last season, and 4-6 in games he missed the year before.

That alone goes to show how valuable a healthy Marshon Lattimore is. And he would be a big-time difference-maker on a Jaguars defense that finished 26th against the pass last season.

When flag football was announced as an Olympic event, many people online assumed that the best NFL players would represent America but current Team USA quarterback Darrell Doucette has other ideas.

Manti Te’o has one of the most bizarre stories of any college football or NFL player. He was the victim of a very publicized catfishing scandal that made him the target of cruel and harmful attacks on social media.

However, that was over ten years ago, and it would have likely been mostly forgotten if not for the Netflix documentary “Untold: The Girlfriend Who Didn’t Exist,” which told the entire story.

Now, after an eight-year playing career that ended in 2020, Te’o has switched to television and will even occasionally appear on “Good Morning Football”. On Friday, he made his first appearance, having a friendly game of trivia about Notre Dame football with Kyle Brandt.

Dallas Cowboys’ sub-$33M deal offer to CeeDee Lamb fuels Chiefs move speculation

CeeDee Lamb’s contract saga is entering its final leg. It appears that the Dallas Cowboys are close to agreeing on a new deal with the wide receiver.

Lamb is entering the final year of his rookie contract and has been holding out ever since the start of the offseason training. He refused to show up for practice while continuing strength and conditioning training on the side with specialist trainers.

As the Cowboys prepared for their second preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Lamb’s representatives met with the Cowboys front office on Thursday. According to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys are offering just below $33 million to their wideout.

It’s unclear how much Lamb wants, but Watkins highlighted his interests do not lie in becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback like Justin Jefferson. The Minnesota Vikings star receiver penned a $35 million annual deal with a mammoth $110 million in guaranteed money.

Currently, the biggest contract of a non-quarterback is San Francisco 49ers pass rusher Nick Bosa, who signed a five-year, $170 million deal with $122.5 million in guarantees. While Lamb may not want a similar level of cash, there’s the possibility that he would prefer at least close to the Eagles’ $33 million annual payment of AJ Brown.

REPORT: FBI Investigating District Attorney In Brett Favre Mississippi Welfare Funds Case

Back in 2022, Brett Favre became embroiled in the largest case of public fraud in Mississippi history. He was one of the original 38 defendants named in a civil lawsuit filed by the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) seeking to recoup Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds that were diverted to the rich and powerful.

An audit found that at least $77 million in welfare funds was misspent.

Over the past four years, District Attorney Jody Owens has led the charge and the criminal prosecution in the Mississippi welfare fraud case, leading to charges against multiple people linked to Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre.

Now, all eyes are on him.

Hinds County district attorney Jody Owens is now under FBI investigation as he has become the subject of a criminal federal bribery probe, according to Front Office Sports.

Aside from Owens being investigated, Jackson, Mississippi, mayor Chokwe Lumumba has also been named as a subject of the FBI investigation, which is said to be in its “late stages.”
