Many of the ideas and principles in our Art were conceptualized and well communicated by others years before Mr. Meisner, Ms. Adler, Mr. Strasberg, et al. Check out this quote from Jiddu Krishnamurti! I often paraphrase this quote when teaching (I teach the Meisner Acting technique). Why no one has made a biopic about Krishnamurti’s amazing life shocks me!

I was just daydreaming about my current and former students. Aside from being blessed with the Angels that are my wonderful wife and daughters, my students over these many years have contributed so much to my joy of life.

Maybe it's because they touch my heart as they struggle to learn the very challenging Experiential Acting Technique we teach here at the Studio. A technique which, for some, completely contradicts the misguided idea they may have had about Acting when they first arrived.

This Art is not about "showing", it's about "knowing"; it's not about putting masks on, it's about taking them off; it's not about going to an audition to get the job, it's about going to an audition for the opportunity to turn the cold words written on a piece of paper into a living breathing human being.

We're just returning from Spring Break and I have really missed working with my actors. I think it's because they, and their work ethic, constantly remind me of how worthy it is to be a true Artist, to fight to maintain your humanity, and in so doing keep us all in contact with our souls and with each other as we share this unique thing called the human experience.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Lancelot E. Theobald Jr. starring (with Eric Roberts) in “Eddie”! Only saw the trailer so far (you were great in it!). I am going to watch it this weekend! Lance, I always knew you were an amazing talent, but more importantly, you’re an amazing Human being. I am so happy for you! And you earned it: You studied hard, worked on your craft incessantly, and always continued on your Artistic journey… I think you always understood that the journey was more important than the destination. Hard to imagine that it was about 20 years ago that we met. I have a very vivid “freeze frame”, a high resolution “snapshot” in my mind of you and Kevin Interdonato working together when my Studio was at Theatre 22. And then directing you two guys on stage in the play “Answers” by Tom Topor (remember the moment in the play when you put the latex glove on your hand! The audience even gasped! Lol!). Now I get to watch you, and also Kevin who is a cast member of Showtime’s “City On a Hill” , share your talent with the world! Feels so good… Thanks for being You, and staying true to the Art!

Hello everyone! What a tough year. I hope everyone is now doing great! As you know, we are going back to the Studio on Tuesday, July 6th! I need to know exactly who will be joining us for our return to in-person classes. KEEP IN MIND THE TUITION WILL BE DISCOUNTED TO $280 PER MONTH FOR ALL CLASSES THROUGH AUGUST ! The first in-person class will be on Tuesday, July 6th. I intend to keep all the in-person classes on the same schedule as they were pre-pandemic. The students in phase 1 and phase 2 (Instructors: Ted Bardy/Glen Vincent) will meet on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00-6:00PM, or Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:45-10:00PM (I can modify these times a bit if necessary. ). The Phase-3/Advanced Workshop class, for people who have done, or are doing, cold readings and selections from the Spoon River Anthology, will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:15 to 10 PM. (I can modify these times a bit if necessary. ). The Studio will not take the customary Summer Break at the end of August. Instead, the Studio will be closed Friday, August 27th through Monday, September 6th for the Labor Day Holiday. To avoid any waitlist or overcrowding, we need to know exactly who will be joining our in-person classes in July. Those joining us will receive an invoice. Payment in full reserves your spot. Priority will be given to current online students, as well as former students who were forced to temporarily withdraw due to the pandemic. Please respond ASAP! Thank You!
