LDG / The Lighting Design Group

LDG / The Lighting Design Group Critically acclaimed Broadcast and Television Lighting Design and Production Services The final stage sets the design into motion.

The Lighting Design Group takes a multi-stage approach to designing every one of our lighting projects, from the largest television studio to the smallest remote location. The result is a rich, creative design, and an efficient, well-ordered ex*****on. The first stage, collaboration, puts to work our well-seasoned creative and conceptual abilities. In partnership with the producer, director, and s

cenic designer, we determine the overall approach and style of the lighting design, establishing a working relationship with each to better serve the development of the overall design. After the design concept has been established we move on to the second stage of the design, pre-production. Employing our detailed technical and production skills, we determine how best to put the design concept into practice. Consideration is given to the production facility, lighting equipment required, schedule, labor pool, and budget. Utilizing the lead designer, assistant lighting designers, production management team and our team of electricians and gaffers, production begins and the design is taken from concept and carefully shaped into the remarkable product that many have come to expect from The Lighting Design Group. Is your project last minute, short-term or a larger, more extensive assignment? No matter what type of project is involved, the firm provides a variety of services that are helpful to you, the client. The Lighting Design Group is a full-service lighting design firm. Our hands-on management style assures that we maintain tight control over all elements of the project from the initial meeting through the launch of the project, without the top-heavy management found in larger firms. The firm provides a fully staffed Production Department who is equipped to handle any questions or issues that may arise pre-production, during the installation phase, and into post production, long after the initial launch date. Highly proficient Project Coordinators, a Scheduling Coordinator, an Assistant Lighting Designer, and an Administrative Personnel staff are always on-hand to ensure the production proceeds smoothly, seamlessly and successfully from beginning to end. The Lighting Design Group employs its extensive experience in production and design to remain an efficient and cost-effective leader in lighting design for the east coast and beyond.

Press Release – LDG appoints new COO, CFO, VP Finance
For immediate release: 03/28/2022

The Lighting Design Group (LDG) is pleased to announce that Bill Groener has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of LDG, effective April 4, 2022. Additionally, the company has recently appointed Ann Van D**e as its Vice President – Finance. Lisa Aldisert, previously functioning as COO, has moved into the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role.
Steve Brill, founder and President of LDG, states, “I am confident that Bill is going to fit well at LDG. He's an experienced candidate to come in and take us to the next level of operational excellence. Ann’s extensive background as an accountant has already served LDG well and shows enormous potential. Lisa has been working at LDG for nearly nine years and she has been vital in helping us manage and grow our business.”

Groener’s distinguished career spans more than 40 years in the entertainment, themed and architectural technology sectors. Before joining LDG, Groener was the President of Vincent Lighting Systems and the VP of National Business Development for 4Wall Entertainment. Prior to being a 4Wall VP, Groener served as the General Manager for its Systems & Design Division.
“I have a huge amount of admiration and respect for the outstanding company that Steve Brill has built,” says Groener. “I've known Steve since the late 80’s and the first major project that we worked on together was the ABC Good Morning America Times Square Studio complex.”

Van D**e has worked in the accounting industry for over 25 years, most recently as the CEO of Van D**e Consulting, which served as an outsourced accounting department for small to midsized businesses. She joined LDG on January 24 and immediately had a positive impact on the business. “Not only am I working with the most amazing professionals, but we have a remarkable clientele,” Van D**e commented. “I am excited to say that I have found a home with LDG and cannot wait to advance to every new level.”

Aldisert began her career in the banking industry, where she worked with clients across many industries. She founded an executive advisory firm specializing in strategic planning, organizational and leadership development for entrepreneurial organizations, which is where she first met LDG. Her work at LDG has ranged from being an advisor to Brill to “filling in temporarily” as COO for nearly five years. “LDG started as a client and rapidly morphed into a dynamic alliance where I’ve had the privilege of working with great people and touching virtually all aspects of the business. Moving into the CFO position brings me full circle back to my roots in finance.”

Wondering how you can directly help the people of Ukraine? Our scenery construction partners at blackwalnut are collecting donations that will go straight into the hands of those affected by the war.

One of their installers, who we work closely with on the Olympics, resides in Tarnow Poland, close to the Ukrainian border. His village has been taking in refugees fleeing the war, and funds raised will go to supporting these refugees & sending supplies forward to Ukrainians in need.

Here in the States, blackwalnut’s Mike Van Dusen is collecting donations on Venmo at -VanDusen-11. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Our Story

The Lighting Design Group takes a multi-stage approach to designing every one of our lighting projects, from the largest television studio to the smallest remote location. The result is a rich, creative design, and an efficient, well-ordered ex*****on. The first stage, collaboration, puts to work our well-seasoned creative and conceptual abilities.
