Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that Itumeleng Khune has been suspended.

Kaizer Chiefs have released a statement, giving an update regarding the situation around Itumeleng Khune, saying the goalkeeper has been suspended and his captaincy has been removed.

Reports emerged in previous weeks that Khune had been suspended by the club for breaking club protocol after allegedly arriving under the influence of alcohol to training.

“At the conclusion of the Club’s rigorous disciplinary processes last week, the committee has taken stern action and decided that Itumeleng Khune should be temporarily separated from the team until certain conditions have been fulfilled,” the statement read.

“As a Club that upholds the highest levels of professionalism, in which discipline forms a key component, Kaizer Chiefs initiated an internal investigation after certain incidents involving Khune came to our attention. The investigation was essential in ensuring the proper functioning and unity within our team.

“During his absence, Khune will be expected to attend and actively participate in certain programmes designed to support his personal growth and development, with support from the Club. These programmes are specifically aimed at helping him address challenges and issues he is facing, while promoting a positive team culture.

“The Club has taken steps to address his transgressions and certain sanctions were instituted, including removing him from the Club captaincy of Kaizer Chiefs.

“As Kaizer Chiefs, we believe in applying corrective measures to achieve personal growth, and we are committed to providing the necessary support to Itumeleng during this period. Once he has completed the required programmes and met the set expectations, he will be welcomed back into the team.

“The team remains focused on the upcoming fixtures and the continued pursuit of excellence. We have full confidence in our players and coaching staff to maintain our high standards and achieve success in Khune’s absence.

A dramatic incident took place in Nseleni Township in Empangeni, KZN. Allegedly, Constable Msane from Esikhaleni SAPS was driving in his private vehicle when he noticed a lady walking across the street towards a tuckshop.According to reports, Cst Msane expressed his affection for the lady, but she did not respond to his compliments. It is claimed that Msane then began insulting the lady, prompting her to retort with a similar comment.

Following this exchange, it is alleged that Msane leaped out of his vehicle and struck the lady with an open hand. The lady's cries for help attracted the attention of her uncle, who rushed to her aid wielding a knife. In response, Msane retreated to his vehicle, retrieved his service pistol, and fired 9 shots at the uncle, tragically ending his life.The sound of the gunfire summoned the lady's grandmother, who emerged with her own firearm and fired 4 shots at Msane, ultimately leading to his demise. Before succumbing to her injuries, it is alleged that Cst Msane managed to discharge one fatal shot at the grandmother. Authorities recovered 2 fi****ms, 1 knife, and discovered 3 deceased individuals at the scene.
