Beauty Steps, the newly formed project from D'Amato and Robert John Weiss, has released their debut single, “Peaches.” It’s the first song off their incredible forthcoming LP, "Show Me Where," which we mixed and helped produce at Silver City Studios.

The song blends multiple genres, including 90s R&B, pop, and alternative rock. If you’ve followed D’Amato’s arc as an artist, you already know that there are going to be some nods toward George Clinton and Prince. The synths are also making us grateful that the two of them have been so into City Pop.

Beauty Steps (D’Amato and @robertjohnweiss) has released their incredible debut LP, "Show Me Where," which we mixed and co-produced here! The album spans multiple genres, but most of it operates in an R&B universe. D’Amato’s fortunate love of #prince shines through, as does the group’s interest in #citypop. Select moments even sound like the best parts of an old Red Hot Chili Peppers instrumental, probably produced by @yolikegeorge. The duo tapped some of Milwaukee’s finest musicians for studio sessions, including @nick_lang_music (drums), @anthonydeutsch (synth), @kidcooliepresents (co-writing, backup vox, rhodes), @caleyconwaymusic (backup vox) and @treccybaby (backup vox). Talent overflows from each track. The album is super unique lyrically, mostly consisting of ambiguously pretty lines, which could be interpreted as either adoring or nihilistic (peaches in a palace, peaches in a casket/it’s all the same to move on). There’s even room for a tiny bit of humor (sippin’ Malort, oh my lord). But occasionally a sharp and devastating phrase will make you reconsider the whole project (I swore to you I’d follow through, I lied/I swore to you before you chose to die). "Show Me Where" was in the works for years before we even started mixing it, and that thoughtfulness and dedication shines through. Purchase it on Bandcamp or stream it on our website. Our Story

Silver City Studios began in early 2017 in Milwaukee’s Silver City neighborhood. Sparked by their need for an affordable audio workspace, three local engineers pooled their resources to create an artist-run, professional, and fun working environment. In mid-2018, the studio relocated to the Washington Heights neighborhood on West Vliet St., residing inside Washington Heights Creative Works. Since its founding, Silver City Studios has recorded and mixed countless bands, solo musicians (instrumentalists, spoken word artists, rappers), podcasts, audiobooks, scores and sound design for film (including spatial audio for VR), and much more.
