Lots of stories told this past year, and here is one for Idris crafted for Make-A-Wish Illinois
Filming the Sketchnote Handbook videos that were included with the book for Mike Rohde Who knew the book would become translated across the globe and be such a big hit… I did 😉
When an organization realizes they are the catalyst to a person's story... the sky is the limit. (literally, for this one)
Caleb Wished to be a pilot. The thing is... when Make-A-Wish Wisconsin gets involved, well, it becomes way more than that. Thank you to everyone involved in filming, crafting and telling Caleb's story; it was a pleasure to be able to create this with all of you. 128th Air Refueling Wing, Jared, Kristi #storytelling #filmmaking #makeawish #video #documentary
A trip to Chicago came up a couple of weeks ago and while we work on a deeper story with Idris and his family, here is a little highlight reel of Idris' Wish to be a CTA Operator.
Last month we crafted a little heart warming story for the Paws & Claws Gala put on by the Wisconsin Humane Society. Allie had this to say about the experience:
"Brian was wonderful to work with on our gala video. He had a long list of potential interviewees to talk to and stuck with the process through some unexpected challenges and tight deadlines. Any time we requested edits, he was quick to make adjustments and send us a new draft. He is also an excellent interviewer and captured a really meaningful story by partnering answers to well-curated questions with plenty of engaging imagery. Thanks in part to his help, this was one of the most successful fundraising events in our organization’s history and we’re truly grateful!"
Thank you Allie, It was my pleasure to work with you and the Humane Society on this wonderful story.

This Is My Purpose
This is Kae. She works at the St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her story was featured at their recent gala and helped open the hearts and minds to the attendees at the Wisconsin Club that evening.
I want to stress how much a person's "why" matters. It's what makes a difference, It's what makes a person unique, and it is what makes their story so inspiring.
The story process, when done right, is usually the same.. but NOBODY has the exact same story. This is what I love about it. And this is what I love about sharing other's stories. Let's cure apathy with empathy. The world needs it right now.
I'm ready to tell some more. lets talk.

Never Stop Helping
Last Summer I had the pleasure of flying down to Phoenix to film a little story for Make-A-Wish Illinois about Linda Pauling(Her son Chris was the first wish that started the entire organization).
I filmed with Linda previously for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, but this time I was able to get more of her story, and why she is still involved with the organization after 41 years.
This version is a little slice of life story about Linda and her involvement with Make-A-Wish Arizona, and Make-A-Wish America as a whole.
Linda, thank you again for your hospitality and time. It was a pleasure to tell a little more about your story.

Monica
I was driving up to Appleton to film a little story for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, and I could not help but notice every other billboard on the way up, or sign on a business building... "we're hiring" along with amount per hour.
It was ALOT. All kinds of companies, big, small, etc.. etc.. Companies are desperate for workers.
But that is the thing now though... I think the days of advertising with a dollar amount and "facts" of the job you are offering is over. People have choices now. Prove to them WHY they should work for you. What do you stand for? Who are you? how is your culture? how are they going to be treated?
A video story, when approached and crafted the right way, can share these things with your potential new hires. Tell the story of the employee who passionately loves their job. Tell the story about how you started your business and WHY so that you find the right individuals to align with and hire. The purpose of the stories are endless, but simply posting a position online, or in these companies cases, a giant billboard with a smiling face, a tagline, and a dollar amount.... wont do.
Let' talk, I have ideas, and can help you. No matter what business you are in, we will find the right story to tell to and get on the right track to find the right people to hire and work with.
Oh, and here is a story about Monica, who found her calling, and loves what she does for work at St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care Do you know anyone like Monica in your company? #storytelling #film #video #marketing #hiring #manufacturing #videoproduction #business #advertising #culture #humanresources #hrdirectors #hr
