Today is the Bay View Bash, and DJ Barry Johnson will kick things off with a Live Remote Boogie Bang Broadcast at noon until 3pm from the WMSE Stage (located at KK and Clement). It is going to be a beautiful day of music and community, so come on out and have a good time.

Saturday is the Bay View Bash! The WMSE Stage will kick off with a live remote broadcast by the station’s popular Saturday Afternoon Boogie Bang show from noon to 3 o’clock. After that, the station will host a handful of impressive acts, including the festival debut of Fight Dice and a headlining set by Austin-based rockers A Giant Dog. Here’s the lineup and set times for the WMSE Stage.

This Friday, September 20th, the Friday Night Freak Show will debut at its new home, The Oriental Theatre! Today, September 17, is 91.7 Day, a.k.a. WMSE Day. Long live WMSE!
WMSE’s Nine-One-Seven Day comes with a full "harvest" moon also a supermoon, meaning it's bigger and brighter than an average moon. The full moon will be Tuesday night, September 17, 2024, at 9:35 p.m. CDT, NASA reports. In addition, on the night of the full moon, there will be a partial lunar eclipse, and amazing WMSE DJ’s spinning at The Wiggle Room.

This Tuesday at 6pm, tune in for another in-studio edition of Local/Live performance and interview with El Sebas hosted by Poundcake Punk DJ Maggie and Music Director Sid.
El Sebas is Mexican rapper, artist, and cultural organizer whose music is influenced by his culture and experiences. He forms half of urban Latin Hip Hop duo ‘Browns Crew’ alongside fellow rapper, Cristo Paz. His creative process encompasses writing through a journalistic lens that affirms his own realities and those of his community members. El Sebas’ music draws attention to prevalent issues, as well as aims to spread joy through his creative sound. He raps in English and Spanish, incorporates clever wordplay and thought provoking content, and infuses Latin sounds into his performances and recordings.
