On January 29th, the Advanced doc|UWM class revisited Bill Odbert. This time the students filmed the leather die-pressing process from beginning to end. Along the way, Mr. Odbert talked about what he did during the 60s and 70s on Brady in between shifts at the Leather Shop. Once again, he kindly gifted everyone a leather gift. This time a Burning Man leather key chain. What a guy. Thank you, Mr. Odbert!

In late December, doc|UWM students interviewed Marin Denning, who is nationally recognized as a leading educator and specialist in American Indian history and culture. Mr. Denning had thoughtful insight into American Indian tribes' relationship with the rivers, and how they utilized the land before European settlement for our Brady Street documentary. He had valuable anecdotes to share about how the American Indian traditions continue to live on to this very day. Thank you, Mr. Denning for sharing your knowledge with us.

Dr. Finlayson also opened the first Black-owned bank, and brought Martin Luther King Jr. to Milwaukee. He was a lifelong contributor to the community.
