📣 Attention businesses in town:

We are collecting business information to update our records so we have proper contacts in the event of an alarm or incident at your business after hours. You may have received one in the mail already (it is legitimate!), but we are offering an online version as well for your convenience. If you have already turned in a form this year, you're all set.

We are best able to serve and protect the community when our information is up to date - thank you for helping us!

Office of the Superintendent
February 12, 2024

Hello Everyone,

Given the reports of inclement weather with up to eight inches of snow predicted to fall throughout the day tomorrow, I am canceling school for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, so that working families may be able to find childcare promptly. There will be no afternoon or evening activities tomorrow as well. Now that this decision has been made in advance, all I can say is, “Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!”

Sincerely,
Susan E. Kustka, Ed.D.
Superintendent

⏳ Grab your walking shoes and a pair of gloves--it's almost time for our Annual 2023 First Night Trail Walk! Walkers may join us 5-8 PM, starting from Blair Square or Cross Street.

🚴‍♀️ We know. It's been raining for days and you're itching to get outside. If you plan to head out on the trail before the walk, remain alert. Volunteers will be on the trail all day working to setup for this evening's event.

🗺 We've created a rough map of the walk. It's not to scale, and it doesn't display every fire pit and stop along the way. It's illustrative to give you a general sense of where you can find key entertainment features.

🚗 Parking for First Night is available in the Blair Square parking lot, the Exchange Street municipal lot, Robert Adams Middle School, Placentino Elementary School, True Value* (*after 5 PM only), and at Cross Street. Many local businesses (CVS, Depot Package Store, Casey’s, etc.) will be open for business on December 31 during the event, so the FOHT asks that you not park in their lots.

🐕 As much as we love and welcome dogs on the trail, our First Night Trail Walk is not the time to bring them. This is stimulation overload for even the bestest four-legged friends.

🍫 The treats along the walk are offered while supplies last. The businesses and families you see sharing a s'more, cup of coffee, or candy cane are donating these items. There will be plenty of snacks along the walk. You'll find something.

📸 We’d love to see your pictures! If you are snapping photos along the trail, share those by tagging us and/or using the below hashtags.

🔦 Pro tip: bring a flashlight. We have fire pits and decorations to light the path, but it doesn’t hurt to have an extra source of light.

~ See you on the trail!

Crews from Holliston DPW, Holliston Police Department, and Holliston Fire Department are doing their best to keep up with the calls for service in town - trying to keep as many catch basins and roadways clear and accessible as possible based on personnel and resource availability.

In addition to Eversource MA, sometimes we need to also notify the Building Department. This home was deemed uninhabitable due to the extent of structural damage.

It’s officially the end of summer at Stoddard Park. Swim lines are in and the dock has been moved closer to shore and secured in an effort to not have to drag it back from the middle of the lake again. As it is now in more shallow water it’s even more important to NOT dive from the dock. It’s not recommended, but if you insist on jumping off, use extreme caution as it’s a short drop. Please do not try to move the dock back out. We’re looking forward to setting it all back up again in 7 short months!
