We know that many of you have been touched by Hurricane Helene. We also know that many of you have given your time, your money, supplies, and your prayers. If you haven’t helped and are looking for a way to, the company I work for is running a supply drive for the victims that live in Burnsville, North Carolina. My sweet cousin, Alicia Whitson-Herrin’s family is in the throws of the devastation there. Alicia’s two oldest children, her sisters and their families live in Burnsville— a town decimated by the storm. There’ve been calls for immediate help including rescues, medicines, and basic needs. In the post is a PayPal link. Funds will be used to purchase supplies listed on the flyer also included in the post. If you live near Demorest, GA and would like to donate supplies, our office address is in the post. Feel free to dm me with questions.

Good evening, friends! Remember when our channel was called The Caver’s Wife before we changed it to Freedom Homestead? Well, Jack just posted a video that shows why I called myself The Caver’s Wife. Needless to say— I ain’t a caver, but I’m glad he enjoys it. The video is very interesting with lots of cool history, and lots of tight crawls 😱

Parker Jackson is a graduate and we are done with homeschool! What a blessing homeschool has been to our family. I’m thankful the Lord led us to it and has richly blessed us through it.

Happy Memorial Day, friends! If you caught our video this morning, you know exactly what I was planning on doing today. It only took 2 and a half years, but this kitchen is finally done-ish! A few little things left to do, and I will eventually be looking for some decor to add, but this is a huge weight off my shoulders. Look at that Before and After! I love how it turned out!

It might seem silly, but y’all! I found a grocery haul from 2 years ago that I never published. So I just published it and wow! I mentioned how much the prices had changed, but they’re even higher now.

Happy New Year, Freedom Lovers! Tangi here. What are your goals/word for 2024?
My word for this year is “Discipline”. I have a few goals that will push me out of my comfort zone and will require me to do things I don’t really want to do. I want to prove to myself that I can do hard things.
A few *milder* goals that I have for the year are (tough goals I may share later):
•Read through the whole Bible (never done this before)
•Payoff my vehicle
•Read 24 books (for self-development and pleasure— recommendations welcome!)
•Get my home inventory to a peaceful and manageable level (cozy minimalism, baby!)
•Finish our home recovery projects (still have cracks that need patching and LOTS of painting)
•Go on lots of adventures with my family and create as many memories as possible

I honestly don’t have new homestead goals. I am so absorbed with my family that adding animals or expanding growing space is the last thing on my mind. My babies are 21 and 18. Won’t be seemingly long before they will be leaving the nest. I want to spend as much time with them as possible and I’m sure you all can understand that.

Happy Sunday! I hope you all are doing well and are headed to your places of worship this morning. Our family has been busy over the last month and a half. Aside from the holidays, we celebrated Parker’s 18th birthday, our 25 year wedding anniversary, and we took our first BIG family trip to Oahu to celebrate said anniversary. Jack’s foot is almost 100% (sans stress fracture from doing too much too soon), and we are all doing well. Chickens are still laying, I’m still working on my health, and we are all working hard. ^_^ How are y’all doing?

As things over seas continue, and threats are openly made toward Americans, I want to lovingly remind you all that it’s always good to be aware of your surroundings. If something feels off, don’t proceed. Know where your exits are. Avoid large crowds especially in big cities. First and foremost, know Jesus. Have some food, water, and supplies stocked up for daily living (always a good idea- sickness, personal catastrophe, etc.)- don’t forget your animals while doing so. Carry some sort of with protection with you— pepper spray and such. Even if nothing happens, it’s better to have it and not need it than the other way around. Be Vigilant. Be Prayerful. Be Prepared.
