Charlie's Open Mic: Episode one

Last night while finishing up our first episode of the new youtube channel I thought about how excited I was to be able to reach people all over the globe now.

Having been at this for 30 years, I get a lot of messages letting me know that people miss the Monday show when they have left the area.

Between the transient lives of humans, and our migration to the screen for entertainment, I feel like I have made a positive move to meet the new challenges of the 21st century.

In creating episode one, I reflected on the fact that I don't have to ask the audience to be mindful of conversations and to respect the performers. Shhhhh!

That said, our show at Phoenix Coffee on Coventry last night had the biggest roster of talent in a very long time. The room was full and everyone listened without my prompting.

To see our live events enjoy new enthusiasm while finding a format to bring the open mic into your home has rejuvenated my spirit.

The first show has a couple of performances that highlight our work. Some of my segments are a little clunky. I expect that at first. I will get better as we continue. We also have some fun features we plan to include in upcoming episodes. I hope you enjoy it.
