ABOUT IRENE
Irene is a resilient US-based Cameroonian princess who after a childhood of extensive abuse and rejection from her family, subsequent homelessness, depression and suicidal attempts began to manifest her struggles in different harmful ways. In her attempt to fit in, be accepted and loved, she ended up masking her true self behind bleaching her skin and hair. Underneath her mask was a v
ery insecure hateful, vengeful, jealous, lazy, selfish and unforgiving girl. That cost her seven of her teenage years hopeless and homeless on the streets of Cameroon, West Africa. While still homeless, news of her mothers’ death came not only as a shock for her but also as a wake up call. This coupled with unexpected events made a life changing impact on her and caused a U-turn into an exciting journey to self-discovery and love. That was over 15 years ago, and it took a lot of falling and getting back up to get to where she is today. She has mastered how to pick the lessons in every setback and to stay on top. She did not suddenly become a person to be proud of; neither was she the hopeless person who for lack of motivation blamed everyone else for her failures. Today, Irene is willing to tell her story in an attempt to tell the stories of the million other people who are atill struggling to find themselves. Society has taught us women to hate, envy and compete amongst ourselves instead of loving, empowering and supporting each other. Many people have lost opportunities to excel in life because they gave up on themselves after the trails and tests of life. We've counted them out! Irene Mangem is on a mission to live her best life while while fostering the values of truth, reconciliations and love. She is intentional to use this platform to share content that reminds us to keep aspiring to live our best and authentic life against all odds. Her goal to use her positive outlook of life to inspire others to not let the trials of life choke up great qualities within them. She is a true friend to many, sister to others and a mother figure to many less privileged girls, a loving wife, a loving daughter, an employer and an employee to others and, a motivation to thousands of people worldwide.
