So my wife found this little bit on her walk with Brick. She was hobbling so we took her to the ER vet in hopes of returning her to her family. We found out she is not chipped and has a fractured/broken femur.

A really lovely friend set up a Go Fund Me account for her medical expenses because we have our own medical stuff to deal with. It is to help ease with the cost of either amputation or repair of her leg.

If you can donate or share this-we would appreciate it. Please read what Allie write on the GFM about the excess of money in case you arexwondering what we will do with the extra. You can click the link in my bio for ease!

“If you cannot find opportunity, create opportunity.” - Josephine Tittsworth

Josephine took those words very seriously and lived by them. I met Josephine in 2002 at UHCL, when she rolled into my life - literally. She ran over my feet with her scooter while I was showing her around campus. Her only response was “get out of the way!” We became fast friends after that. After graduation we stayed in contact and I joined TXTNS after a few years and got to witness her love of education and advocacy for the community. She was unapologetically herself and could make people uncomfortable until you got to know her. She was smart, funny, sarcastic, and fiercely protective of her loved ones.

She was a strong force in the social work field, creating spaces for those who didn’t have them. Whether through helping people one-on-one or organizing a nonprofit that brought communities together, she educated others about the transgender umbrella. She never saw an enemy; she saw an opportunity to have a conversation with someone who needed education. She didn’t ask for a chair at the table; she said, “I will bring my own.” She always gave the stage to those who wanted to help others. She said that “we should always look beyond the label. It is there that we will find someone who challenges our assumptions.” And that she did - and that is where you would find the true Josephine.

RIP my friend. Love you!

The Pride Progress Flag is a symbol of inclusion, diversity, and the ongoing fight for equality within the LGBTQIA+ community. Each color in the flag represents a unique aspect of our diverse community and the importance of unity and visibility for all.
There were originally 8 colors but only 6 colors were kept after concern about fabric supply.
The Colors and Their Meanings in the Gay Flag:

1. Red - Life
2. Orange - Healing
3. Yellow - Sunlight
4. Green - Nature
5. Blue - Harmony
6. Purple - Spirit

Added Colors in the updated Progress Flag:

1. Black and Brown - Representing marginalized LGBTQIA+ communities of color, recognizing their unique struggles and contributions.
2. Pink, Light Blue, and White - Representing the transgender community, emphasizing the importance of visibility and rights for trans individuals.
3. Intersex Colors (Yellow with the Purple Circle) - Highlighting the intersex community, ensuring their voices and experiences are included in the broader LGBTQIA+ movement.

Why All the Colors Are Important

The Pride Progress Flag goes beyond a simple rainbow; it acknowledges the diverse identities and experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Each color serves as a reminder of the unique struggles and triumphs of different groups, promoting a message of solidarity and inclusiveness. It’s a call to action to support every member of the community, recognizing that true equality and acceptance can only be achieved when no one is left behind.

Please understand and celebrate the significance of each color by using all the colors correctly. We honor the full spectrum of identities and experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community. Our Pride celebrations are truly inclusive, representing and supporting every individual who contributes to our vibrant and diverse community.

Fun post Saturday!!

Hello everyone! I'm embarking on an exciting project to build a Lego city 🏙️and I need your creative input for naming it. You can either choose from my top picks - Harmony Haven, Unityville, Rainbowville, Compassion City, Bridgeport Beacon, and Javaland (my reasoning for the names I chose below)- or feel free to suggest a unique name of your own. Your ideas and contributions are greatly appreciated in bringing this city to life!

1. Harmony Haven - This name reflects a peaceful and inclusive community, aligning with the values often found in the non-profit sector.
2. Unityville - Emphasizing unity and togetherness, this name can represent the strong bond I share with my wife and my commitment to social harmony.
3. Rainbowville - A nod to the LGBTQ+ community and the diversity i represent, this name adds a colorful and inclusive touch to my city.
4. Compassion City - Highlighting my work in the non-profit sector, this name conveys a sense of care and empathy for others.
5. Bridgeport Beacon - Symbolizing my role in communications/social media and as a beacon for social change and connectivity in my professional life.
6. JavaLand - my love of coffee and coffee flavored things

In memory of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, who passed away at 96.

A champion of mental health, caregiving, and women's rights, she was a guiding force beside President Jimmy Carter.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and extraordinary humanitarian efforts. Her memory lives on through her family and the many lives she touched.

“Here I sit beneath a tree. Heartbeat calm. Soul hums free.” Angie Weiland-Crosby

Sometimes I think that sitting in nature is something I need to try to do. I have so many thoughts that race through my mind.

As a Neurodivergent person one of my challenges is Executive Functioning especially with repetitive thinking. I can meditate if I really force myself to but sitting in nature is not ever a place I have been able to seek solace.
