Last month, at a United Nations Human Rights summit, a woman named Madina Mahboobi, who was unknown to everyone, including Afghan women's rights activists, gave a speech as a human rights and women's rights defender and advocated for the Taliban. This shocked everyone, particularly women protesters and rights activists. @TajudenSoroush's expose reveals that Mrs. Mahboobi was strategically placed at the UN by a man named Navid Ahmad from Kandahar, who is a Taliban supporter. He deceitfully introduced her in this meeting as a women's rights defender to speak in favor of the Taliban. Sources has also confirmed to this media outlet that Mrs. Mahboobi was introduced to @SR_Afghanistan by Navid Ahmad as a women's rights defender. Navid, who is a staunch Taliban supporter and their ideologies, is shown in this report hosting Mrs. Madina Mahboobi at his home even two weeks after the UN Human Rights summit, where she continued to live with him. This woman has done nothing for defending human rights or defending women's rights. The invitation of such individuals, instead of thousands of women who consistently voice their opposition against the Taliban's gender apartheid in the streets of Kabul, sends one clear message: that the United Nations is engaging in duplicitous behavior. It seems that through such acts, the United Nations is attempting to shape a new narrative, pushing Afghanistan women and their rights aside by legitimizing the Taliban group, only to later claim that it was Afghanistan women themselves who sought to engage with Taliban and legitimize this group.
