Early and absentee voting in today's Bradley County Primary Election shows mixed results for incumbents hoping to keep their seats.
In the county mayor race, incumbent D. Gary Davis is leading with 65.53% of the votes, compared to challenger Johnny Mull, with 34.28%.
In the road superintendent race, challenger Tom Collins is leading with 53.81%, compared to incumbent Sandra Knight's 46.02%.
In the contested county commission races, District 1, Seat A incumbent Dennis Epperson is in second with 34.35%, trailing challenger Daniel Beaty who has 34.83%. In third place is Don Scoggins with 30.61%.
District 2, Seat A incumbent Louie Alford is in the lead with 47.82%, followed by challengers Chris Scoggins with 40.17% and Marc Christian Baker with 11.61%.
District 2, Seat B incumbent Thomas Crye is in the lead with 42.32%, followed by challengers Zachary Kilby with 38.48% and Tyler Blackwell with 18.94%.
District 3, Seat B is up for grabs as Johnny Mull ran for county mayor — Denny Collins Jr. has 62.18% of the vote, and Randy Howard has 37.71%.
In the District 4, Seat A race, challenger Scott "Donut" Gilbert is ahead in early voting with 61.62% of the vote, with incumbent Charlotte Peak with 38.38%.
In District 4, Seat B, incumbent Howard Thompson has 48.06% and challengers Rich Kienlen with 45.90% and Daniel Lautaret with 5.76%.
District 5, Seat A incumbent Bobby Goins has 64.49% of the early vote and challenger Rachel Ivey Goins has 35.51%.
In District 6, Seat B, challenger Tommy Ledford has 57.24%, ahead of incumbent Erica Davis' 42.30%.
