For this week’s , we would love to feature Troy Forbes, our Emergency Communications Center supervisor!
Forbes served 23 years as an Air Force firefighter before becoming a dispatch supervisor here at Buckley. On a day-to-day basis, Forbes is the man who answers the base’s 911 calls. He monitors fire alarms, dispatches fire response units and coordinates emergency response with security forces, Command Post, Base Operations and off base ambulance agencies.
Forbes has been at Buckley for around five and a half years, along with his wife and two kids. During his free time, he likes to ski, travel and spend time with his family.
Buckley was at the top of Forbes list when it comes to places to work because he loves the Fire Department, mission and location. He enjoys creating a fast and accurate dispatcher response, along with assisting emergency support, because it can make the difference between life and death.
“Being responsible for a team of dispatchers that provide Buckley Space Force Base with emergency dispatch services is very rewarding,” said Forbes. “Making sure we are ready to assist when that phone rings is my top priority.”
Thank you for being such a huge part of and for keeping us safe. We can all relax knowing that help is only one phone call away.
🚨🚨 FYSA, if you have an emergency on base and need to contact 911 with your cell phone, contact 720-847-9117 to avoid any delays. 911 calls made from a cell phone go to the Aurora dispatch where you will be transferred to Buckley 911, which could cause delays. 911 calls made from a landline on base will directly go to Buckley’s 911 dispatch center. If you're unsure if a situation requires an emergency response, call anyways. They will determine if an emergency response is required. If fire alarms activate in your building, evacuate. If you know the reason for the alarm, call 720-847-9117.
