Asian American & Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Mental Wellness Summit: Embracing Emotions
Saturday, August 31, 9AM - 3:30PM
Location: Community College of Aurora - CentreTech Campus

The Mental Wellness Summit aims to reduce the stigma of mental illness, increase education regarding mental wellness, and promote resources for AA & NHPI community members. Although the focus will be for AA & NHPI communities, allies are more than welcome to attend.

This summit centers what will come of increasing awareness of our emotional experiences as AA & NHPI people. Awareness is a foundational practice to increasing choice and empowerment when navigating life’s challenges.

For many AA & NHPI identity holders, awareness becomes disrupted by dominant narratives including but not limited to perfectionism, familial loyalty, and model minority myth. We will provide workshops that will explore the role of awareness in building community resilience.
