It's amazing what we can achieve when we allow ourselves to push our limits.

That was me this morning on my walk/jog. In fact, that's been me this whole week, pushing myself to start each day with some form of movement or exercise. Making little increments each day. And getting stronger.

So much so that this morning I set out with the goal of walking 7 miles on the Big creek greenway. Not only only did I crush my goal, but my pace improved too💪🏿! I was able to infuse periods of very slow 🐌 jogging in my routine because I felt stronger than I did just a week ago, going from an average pace of 16.50 (last slide) to 14.50 (first slide)💕. I still huffed and puffed, but I kept going and did it🎯!

A couple of things that helped me power through this morning:

📌 I made sure I'd had adequate sleep last night. This is a big one for me, and I'll talk more about sleep in a later post.
🥯 I rarely eat anything before my morning walks. Today, I decided to have some toast with peanut butter, half a banana and some coffee, just like I would on my strength training days. This was a game changer 🙌🏿
🎼🎶I had my good music going 😌! I admit I am little too dependent on music during my workouts, but it really does keep me going. I could be on my last breath but become immediately revived when Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" or "The Champion" by Carrie Underwood and Ludacris start playing 🤚🏿😄! Over time, I've curated an inspirational list that keeps me motivated and going during all sorts of tough times.

I love this version of me right now and I hope to keep it going. I am still overly heavy 😩, far from a healthy weight range, but glad that I am doing something about it and moving in the right direction 😌 💕.

They say consistency is the key for achieving most life goals. I struggle with consistency when it comes to my fitness and nutrition goals. So rather than try to do it perfectly, my focus lately has been to simply try to stay consistent with my fitness goals and keep moving.

I explored a slightly different walking route today and felt grateful for it❤🙏🏿.

I am grateful i was able to get up and out this morning🙏🏿💞. It was hopefully the reset i needed as I try to get back to a consistent fitness routine after a brief hiatus. And nothing beats seeing the magnificent rising of the sun 🌞 ✨.
