WE MOVED INTO A LATE MAN'S HOUSE, AND EVERY DAY, A DOG CAME TO US – ONE DAY IT CAME WHINING AS IF BEGGING US TO FOLLOW HIM

We recently moved into a new house. The daughter of the previous owner, who passed away, sold it to us.

From day one, something strange kept happening. Every day, an old dog with a collar would show up at our place. He looked well past his prime but always came asking for food and water, which we gave him. Then, he'd just wander off.

One day, my son noticed a name on the dog's collar: "Christopher Jr." Christopher was the name of the previous owner who passed away. The dog started whining and seemed to be begging us to follow him.

My son convinced me to go after the dog, and after walking for 20 minutes, we found ourselves on a path leading into the woods. We kept following him, and where he took us to the spot he wanted us to be at.

I GAVE SHELTER TO A HOMELESS MAN I SAW NEAR A DUMPSTER – I GASPED, "THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE," WHEN HE CAME OUT OF MY SHOWER

I'm not the kind of person who picks up strangers — especially not men near dumpsters. At 55, I've learned my lessons about trusting too quickly. But that evening, taking out the trash behind the diner where I work part-time, I saw him.

He was slumped by the dumpster, his clothes tattered, face hidden behind messy hair and a scraggly beard. The cold bit into my skin — I couldn't imagine what it was doing to him. I tried to ignore him, but as I turned to go inside, he looked up. His eyes weren't dull like I expected — they were bright, filled with something I couldn't place. Desperation? Pain? Hope?

"Ma'am… I don't mean to bother you," he croaked. "But if you've got anything… anything at all…" I hesitated but handed him a twenty. "Get something warm to eat," I said. He stared, then added, "I don't suppose you know where I could sleep tonight?"

My heart clenched. Before I could think better of it, I said, "I have a couch. And a hot shower. If you're not… dangerous." He smiled, weary but grateful. "I promise, ma'am."

MY MIL MOVED IN WITH US & STARTED STEALING MY FOOD – SHE DENIED IT, SO I PREPARED A TRAP.

My MIL moved in with us after deciding to undertake a renovation she absolutely couldn't afford. It's been dragging on for months. Naturally, we let her stay—what else could we do? But there's a catch.

She's always criticizing me. My cooking, my housekeeping, you name it. She constantly says things like, "Poor Sammy, having to live with someone like you! How can anyone eat THIS?"

Eventually, I told her, "Fine. If you don't like my cooking, buy your own food." Surprisingly, she agreed, and for a while, that seemed to settle things.

But then I started noticing something strange. The food I cooked would disappear by the end of the day, even though my husband and I were at work. The only person home was HER. Naturally, I confronted her.

Her response? Total denial. "How dare you accuse me? I don't touch your food! You and Sammy must be eating it and forgetting about it!"

As much as I want to take so many with me where God is leading me to, I just can’t do it! I’ve healed from past hurt from people only wanting me around because I had something to offer them for free and when I stopped giving it away, they stopped fooling with me! Life situations show you people’s truth! I didn’t know until I went into a depression for a couple of years and I stop chasing people for their friendships. I’ve learned to only focus on the people who pour into me bc I automatically pour into others by default.
