Taking back our profession.
Make a stand with the American Aligner Society (AAS), whose mission is to “take back” the Orthodontic profession from Corporate Aligner Companies.
Our profession has been materially affected by a profit-driven and controlled orthodontic aligner industry, which affects treatment decisions for patients by their doctors. Often times these decisions are manipulated through deceptive marketing, sales quotas disguised as ‘experience,’ and use of proprietary 3D scanners and software. Many patients are presented a “one-size-fits all” product that may or may not be ideal for them. Our mission is to continue providing high quality orthodontic treatment, either in-office or direct to consumer, by the patients own doctor. Furthermore, our members seek to redefine the term ’aligners’ as being fixed aligners (braces), removable clear aligners, and jaw aligners (for growth modification, TMJ/TMD, and airway).
The AAS serves to protect the profession by pledging to protect the value of wholistic orthodontic service, and therefore the patient-public as a whole.
