The He She Bang! documentary tells one man’s story of addiction, recovery and redemption through the lens of the He She Bang!, a long-running drag show that started as an AIDS benefit and continues to this day in Madrid, New Mexico, a quirky little tourist town that has an eclectic and eccentric history of its own.

Hello!

So The Story Begins will be filming a trailer for our upcoming project, The Land of No Reason.

The Land of No Reason follows James, a young traveling bank robber who finds himself in a small, run-down town. There are only two reasons you end up in a town like this, family or you've simply reached the end of the road. While unsure of which brought him here, James meets a young woman, Zee who is just as lost. Though it's not love at first sight, a connection grows fast. With a trauma filled past, a new found love, and a sheriff hot on his trail we find James coming face to face with his fate. The question is... Is he running from it or towards it?

We will be filming a few scenes from the script and are looking to cast five roles: James, Zee, Casey, Aaron and Amy.

James: 20-something year old bank robber with a drug problem. He is a lonely man that typically keeps quiet and to himself until he crosses paths with Zee. Things in his life quickly become complicated.

Zee: Impulsive 20-something year old bartender with a drug problem. She has just left her toxic relationship, hopefully it sticks this time. As she mourns the death of her sister, Zee seeks comfort in her trauma bond with James.

Casey: 30-40 year old widowed sheriff in a small town. He's the only cop in this town that cares about his job. He's doing the best he can caring for his son and keeping a relationship with his estranged sister-in-law, Zee.

Aaron: 20-something year old toxic masculinity personified. Ex-boyfriend to Zee who loves to run his mouth and push any and every button imaginable.

Amy: Late 20s-Early 30s, Zee's sister and Casey's wife. A gentle and kind woman who is not afraid of conflict and speaking her mind. A sickness comes over her and leaves her bedridden, she must face what her untimely death could mean for her family.

Auditions are tentatively scheduled for August 14th through the 17th. We encourage you to read for multiple roles if you are interested. Filming will take place in mid September with some rehearsals and table reads that will happen prior.
