🎶 The Jackie McGehee Young Artists’ Competition (JMYAC) has been a cherished part of the New Mexico music community for 30 years, showcasing the exceptional talent of young musicians across the state. Founded in 1994 by Jackie McGehee, this prestigious event offers a platform for pianists and string players, ages 10-21, to perform, grow, and pursue their musical dreams.

Precious Pets! 🐶🐾

🐾 Meet the trio! Nadal, the elder of their canine crew at 12 years old is the wise, laid-back leader of the pack. Life was quiet until 2020 when his parents brought home two lively pups, Rafa and Guga, who keep things interesting.

Rafa’s the wild explorer, always ready for an adventure (and sometimes a runaway chase!), while Guga’s got a knack for spinning like a tornado and jumping like a pro. Despite their mischief, Nadal loves his little brothers and keeps a watchful eye over them.

Their days are filled with backyard races, playdates, and snuggles with mom and dad. 🐶 Whether barking at the mailman or finding the best nap spots, Nadal wouldn’t trade his life for all the tennis balls in the world. ❤️

So, if you see them out on a walk, come say hi! Just be ready for a bit of puppy chaos. 🏃‍♂️💨

🌟 Athlete Spotlight: Addie Kiburz 🌟

Meet Addie Kiburz, an 8th grader at Albuquerque Academy who’s making waves in the world of golf! After starting her journey last fall, Addie made a bold choice to shift her focus from gymnastics to golf, and her dedication is paying off.

This summer, she joined Tanoan’s Jr. PGA program and earned a spot on the prestigious Tanoan All Stars team. Competing against boys and girls of all ages, Addie and her teammate advanced to the Jr. PGA sectional finals, becoming the only two girls from Tanoan to reach this stage! 👏

Now, she’s secured a place on Albuquerque Academy’s Fall Varsity Golf Team as the only 8th grader on the girls' team. Her hard work and passion have taken her to the Regional competition in October, where she’ll represent New Mexico in Hawaii! 🌺

Addie shares, “One bad shot doesn’t determine your score. Just work hard and don’t let it get to you.” 🎯

🌟 Albuquerque's Dynamic Duo: Nicole Kapnison & Joshua Schriber 🌟

For Nicole Kapnison, the restaurant industry is in her DNA. Growing up in Albuquerque, she learned the business from her grandparents, who built a legacy in the local culinary scene. Today, she carries on their tradition through her ventures: Meraki Coffee+Market, Dorothea Fine Greek, and Nikle Co. Spirits, all committed to wholesome, quality food and beverages. 🍴

Joshua Schriber’s journey to entrepreneurship started with a family challenge. A talented craftsman with deep roots in metalwork, Joshua launched Schriber Designs after creating custom furniture for Nicole’s Nob Hill Bar and Grill. Today, his business specializes in steel and glass installations across the Southwest, with his son Isaiah now leading as the head fabricator. 🏡✨

Bryce Burt's athletic journey is truly inspiring! Starting gymnastics at age 3, he became a state champion in the all-around category, rings, and pommel horse by level 9. Now, Bryce shares his passion as the youngest coach at Gold Cup Gymnastics, guiding the next generation.

But his talents don’t stop there! Bryce also plays football for Hope Christian High School and trains as a boxer at Duke City Boxing and Republiq Gym. Balancing multiple sports, he continues to show dedication, teamwork, and versatility.
