As public broadcaster, Thai PBS has a distinctive place in the Thai media industry. Its code of ethics insures that Thai PBS carry out its mission with full accountability and integrity as well as respects for the rights of others. All personnel of Thai PBS are obliged to strictly abide by its code of ethics that governs program production and program contents. The process of designing the code of ethics was inclusive, taking into account opinions and suggestions from representatives of Thai PBS employees, program producers, the Audience Council and experts in the field of mass communications. Thai PBS has a sub-committee to oversee conduct of employees at all levels and to monitor program and news contents to make sure that they are in compliance with the code of ethics. The committee also investigates complaints about breaches of the code of ethics from Thai PBS audiences.

Welcome back! Thailand’s Suchata "Opal" Chuangsri, 3rd runner-up in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant, returned home to a warm welcome from fans at Suvarnabhumi airport this morning. Suchata told reporters that she is proud of herself and her supporters, and that she is grateful for the love that she has received from many Thais.

The Financial Institutions Policy Committee of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) is to cut the contributions to the Financial Institutions Development Fund (FIDF) by commercial banks, from 0.64% to 0.23% of their cash deposits, which will afford them more liquidity to assist debtors.

As Thailand aims to increase its climate resilience, promote gender equality and strengthen the capabilities of SMEs, an international organisation is helping the country in attaining these goals by collaborating with the private sector through financial intermediaries. Country Manager for Thailand and Myanmar of the International Finance Corporation (a member of the World Bank Group), Jane Yuan Xu, said that that cooperation with both banking and non-banking institutions has driven initiatives towards these objectives, but the main challenge remains the transition to becoming a high-income country.

To lift Indonesia and Thailand into the high-income countries, Indonesia's former finance minister, Dr Muhamad Chatib Basri, suggested that governments need to attract more investment by opening their economies and by streamlining complex bureaucratic procedures. He is in Bangkok to attend the Forbes Global CEO Conference 2024.

Basri told Thai PBS World that the public sector should develop an agile bureaucracy, which can adapt to challenges posed by evolving technology, particularly artificial intelligence.

The Office of Attorney General (OAG) has rejected a petition, filed recently by political activist Thirayuth Suwankesorn with the Constitutional Court, demanding a probe into the conduct of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and the Pheu Thai party over alleged attempts to upend constitutional democracy in Thailand.

Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) is Thailand’s first public broadcasting service. It is established by the 2008 Thai Public Broadcasting Service Act. Thai PBS is committed to active and informed citizens of the society with its diverse educational and entertainment programs while strictly abiding by the code of ethics that ensures fair, balanced and impartial news coverage.
