Nick Cannon Eminem - The Beef Breakdown

All the music blogs can talk about this week is the new blowup between Em and Nick Cannon. In case you can’t be bothered reading all about it, here is the timeline and need-to-know, juicy facts.

Sometime 2001

Eminem starts claiming that he and Mariah Carey were hooking up. She denied it and still does to this day. The denial only fueled Slim Shady’s fire for talking trash about the Songbird Supreme.

May 2002

Eminem releases his 4th Album, The Eminem Show. On it is the single, Superman, where Em spits: “What you trying be? My new wife? / What, you Mariah? Fly through twice.” On the same album is When The Music Stops, where he states: “I done came way too far in this game to turn and walk away, and not say what I got to say. What the f*ck you take me for a joke? You smokin crack? Before I do that, I’d beg Mariah to take me back.”

December 2002

On Larry King, Mariah says: “I hung out with him, I spoke to him on the phone, I think I was probably with him a total of four times. And I don’t consider that dating somebody.” She also put her feelings into song in Clown: "You should've never intimated we were lovers when you know very well we never even touched each other."

August 2005

Eminem plays Mariah’s voice mail messages on stage! It is incriminating.

December 5, 2006

Jimmy Crack Corn is dropped on Eminem Presents: The Re-Up. The lyrics include: “Your mind’s on us like mine’s on Mariah / And y’all are just like her, you’re all fu***ng liars / But I’ll just keep fu***ng you like I fu**ed her / Right in the ass with KY yes sir,”

Nick Cannon woke up real mad or something. He dropped the diss track I’m A Slick Rick. “Yo, I’m a serve this clown now word nick word. I don’t know if I should cause he’s feminine slick. Excuse me, Eminem, why you lying on your dick? Erectile dysfunction,” Cannon also challenged Slim Shady to a boxing match: “The time has come! Boys talk the talk, but men walk the walk. Nick has laid down the challenge to meet Eminem in the ring.” In June 2016, Cannon challenged Eminem to a $100,000 rap battle. Em responded to none of this nonsense.

September 2019

Nick appeared on T.I. Harris‘ ExpediTIously podcast and said: “I don’t wanna fight anymore! He still in my top five, but I feel like anytime somebody says something … you’ve just gotta be held accountable. If you say something, we gonna have to have this conversation like men. That’s all I wanted.”

Eminem put down on Fat Joe’s track “Lord Above”: “I know me and Mariah didn’t end on a high note but that other dude’s whipped — that p***y got him neutered, Tried to tell him this chick’s a nut job before he got his jewels clipped. Call Kim, somebody get Hailie. And that other kid you raisin', that ain't even your baby.” “My baby mama killed you off a decade ago. You’re still cryin' about it, bitch, now who really the ho? I called Joe to set you up and you fell for the job. Slim won't show for the video, 'cause he terrified of my squad. I heard your chauffeur got a video of you suckin' a c**k
You paid him off, then laid him off, now who really the opp?”

2 days after release, the song has over 254K dislikes on YouTube to only 47K likes.
