The Governor of the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), Johnny Ohisa Damian, along with First Deputy Governor Yeni Samuel Costa and Second Deputy Governor Gan Samuel Bwogo, held an introductory meeting with senior representatives from commercial Banks.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the BoSS and commercial banks, fostering a collaborative approach to addressing key financial challenges in South Sudan, and building trust between banks and their customers.

Governor Damian highlighted key initiatives, including addressing the long-standing issue of delayed civil servant salary payments.

Commercial Bank representatives took the opportunity to congratulate Governor Damian and First Deputy Governor Costa on their recent appointments, expressing optimism for future collaboration and reforms within South Sudan's financial sector.

Former Bank Governor Dr. Alic pledges to support successor BoSS Governor Ohisa

On Thursday, the former Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Dr. James Alic Garang, paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Bank Governor, Johnny Ohisa Damian, where he briefed him on the ongoing projects and key initiatives within the bank.

The discussion also covered important administrative programs. Dr. Alic encouraged Bank Governor Johnny to continue focusing on staff welfare and completing the bank's ongoing projects.

Bank Governor Johnny Ohisa Damian expressed his appreciation to Dr. Alic and emphasized his intention to seek guidance from former governors to help advance the bank's programs.

The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Governor, Yeni Samuel Costa, Second Deputy Governor, Gan Samuel Bwogo, and the former First Deputy Governor of the Bank, Samuel Yanga Mikaya.

In a separate event, former Bank Governor Kornelio Koriom Mayik also paid a courtesy visit to Governor Johnny Ohisa, congratulating him on his appointment.

Sub: Suspension of wrestling and dancing related activities in Bor for two weeks time.

The leadership of Bor county wrestling and cultural association through Deputy chairman office has officially suspended the wrestling and dancing related activities from the effect of today in Bor for two weeks due to the untimely death of our Iconic leader who died on 11th December 2024 in Juba, south Sudan.

There will be no wrestling and dancing activities from all the fields around Bor town within the interval of 14 days as we will mourn with the family of our late prominent elder Honorable Maker Thiong Maal.
