We are a Singapore-based production company that specialises in telling compelling, visual stories. Weave’s own story is still in its first draft.

We are Weave and we like telling earnest stories beautifully -- through films, motion graphics and photography. We choose to fight creative battles daily that birth what we hope, is the next big idea. The goal: achieving the best production values on any given budget and deadline. We start this process with a kick-ass internship programme where we strive to give every intern’s idea their own time

under the sun. For our old birds: tailored training programmes, masterclasses and annual overseas retreats keep things fresh. It is one about a creative community with long-term commitment to our ideals. Now, let us help tell yours.

In honour of Lee Kuan Yew’s 100th birth anniversary, Weave is working on a video to commemorate him. We’re gathering responses from people of all walks of life who’d like to celebrate in remembrance of the man himself.

Weave is looking for a Senior Writer on a freelance/contract basis.

Senior Writer Job scope:

-Pitch creative concepts and stories to clients

-Develop beat sheets and scripts that are ready for production

-Work closely with a team to meet the needs of the client through the final video product

Senior Writer Requirements:

-At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience

-Strong understanding of story and storytelling skills

-Strong understanding of film as a storytelling medium

-Ability to pitch novel and creative concepts

-Ability to develop compelling scripts, with strong stories that elicit emotion

-Ability to understand the client's brief and work with their feedback

-Ability to work closely with a team

-Strong and clear communication skills both in the work and with the team

-Passionate about storytelling and script writing

-An independent thinker with a strong sense of ownership and drive

Weave's creative team is in need of a talented and creative Junior Writer to craft and create video content across various genres for our clients. From profile driven stories to kickass brand videos and compelling narratives, we are on the lookout for great storytellers across mediums.

The ideal candidate will be an expert wordsmith and storyteller that is able to cater their ideas to clients' wants and needs, and be at the forefront of media consumption trends.

As a Junior Writer, you will

• Tackle client briefs and translating that into a compelling creative pitch. Be prepared to sell your ideas directly to clients

• Work on a variety of scripts, starting from research and conducting pre-interviews with profiles, to finessing the final product with the Director,
Executive Producer and clients

Skills required:
• Ability to work independently, to research and learn about a wide range of topics

• Understand basics of creative writing including story arc, three-act structure, loglines and character development

• Ability to independently develop winning briefs and good scripts

• Excellent teamwork, communication and organizational skills, with the internal team and with clients
