Let kids make mistakes. That’s how confidence and resilience are built.

It is hard to watch our kids struggle or get things wrong. Our instinct is to step in, fix it, and make everything better. But every spilled drink, forgotten homework, or wrong answer is also a small lesson in responsibility, problem solving, and resilience.

When children are given space to try, fail, and try again, they learn something even more important than getting things right. They learn that mistakes are not something to fear.

Sometimes, the best parenting is not about protecting them from every fall, but teaching them how to get back up. 💛

What is one mistake your child learned a big lesson from?

Hwa Chong bentos spark debate. Would your child eat this at school today?

School meals are not just about filling hungry tummies. They shape how our children feel about food, school and even their day.

Hwa Chong Institution’s new pre ordered bento meals have sparked a heated discussion online, with some students saying the food looks unappetising and portions feel small, while the school says the viral photos do not reflect the usual standard and that reviews are underway.

It raises a bigger question for parents. When schools change how meals are prepared and served, should efficiency come before freshness and choice?

If your child were in this situation, would you be okay with it, or would you prefer live cooked food at school? Tell us what you think.

Bedtime, but make it competitive. 😂

Sandals broke at Newton MRT. What these staff did next warmed hearts today!

A small problem turned into a big reminder of kindness. When a commuter’s sandals broke at Newton MRT on a rainy day, SBS Transit staff did not just try to fix them. They went the extra mile and even found her a pair of slippers so she could get home safely. She returned the slippers the next day with thanks, and our hearts are just as warm.

It is almost time. The 2025 O Level results will be released on 14 January from 2pm, and it can be a nerve-wracking day for both parents and teens.

Whether your child is collecting their results in school or checking them online, remind them that this is just one step in a much longer journey. The Joint Admissions Exercise opens the same day, and there will be many pathways ahead, no matter how things turn out.

Most importantly, be there for them. Sometimes, what they need most is not advice, but reassurance that they are more than their results.

Good luck to all students and parents. You have done your best. 💛

Sometimes our eldest children grow up faster than they should. Not because they want to, but because they feel expected to. 💛

Let’s give them space to be children too.
To make mistakes, to cry when it’s hard, to be imperfect, and to not always be “the strong one”.

If you’re raising a firstborn or are one, what resonates with you the most from this post? 👇

Before surgery, they suit up as superheroes. Courage starts here 💙

Trips to the operating theatre can be scary, even for the bravest kids. That is why one doctor lets young patients dress up as superheroes before surgery, turning fear into confidence and tears into smiles. Sometimes, a cape and a little kindness are all it takes to help a child feel strong. Would this help your child feel braver too, parents?

A fun day out turned scary at Jewel. What parents need to know today.

A family outing at Jewel took a frightening turn after a six year old boy was injured at the Walking Net attraction. While the attraction meets safety standards and visitors are given safety briefings, the incident is a timely reminder that accidents can still happen, especially with young children.

Public play spaces are meant to be fun, but they also come with risks. Staying close, setting expectations and reminding our kids to walk, not run, can go a long way in keeping them safe.

What do you usually remind your child before letting them play at attractions like this?

Singapore schools ban smartphones: How can parents guide teens wisely?

Singapore schools are tightening smartphone rules for secondary students. Strict bans alone are not enough. Parents can guide teens by understanding their digital world, encouraging conversations, and helping them manage screen time responsibly.

Mother jumps into water to save daughter on cruise – a reminder for all parents!

A family holiday in the Bahamas turned into a tense rescue when a 4-year-old fell into the water at a cruise port. Quick thinking by her mother and crew kept them both safe. For parents, it’s a reminder: accidents can happen in seconds, so always stay vigilant.

Purpose, pay or stability? What Singapore youth want from work.

Meaningful work matters more than ever to Singapore youth, but passion alone does not pay the bills. Many are balancing purpose with practical concerns like salary, job security and long term stability. As career paths become less linear, it is no surprise that many are still figuring out what truly matters to them at work.

Is meaningful work enough, or does stability still matter more today?
