Established by Dato Francis Ng, the House of Seafood Riverwalk has earned its reputation on the foundation of its award-winning black pepper crab. The restaurant’s signature dish is a symphony of flavours, a masterful blend of black peppercorn, garlic, and other aromatic spices that dance harmoniously on the palate. I enjoyed the black pepper crab that stole the show. The crab meat, succulent and sweet, was enveloped in a rich, spicy, velvety black pepper sauce that was both intensely satisfying and undeniably addictive. Paired with the fluffy mantou, it was an enjoyable experience that were more than a mere grub.

Andrea, who had been appointed to the ATC Women’s Committee on 28 April 2023, will transition to the Enterprise Committee, effective 5 July. Her role on the Women’s Committee will conclude on 3 July.

The Enterprise Committee convened for the 2nd meeting on 31 July to discuss work plan for 2024 held at the Seminar Space on 8 Burn Road.

The Enterprise Committee serves Singapore’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and enterprises across all industries and trade sectors and is focused in promoting the interests and growth of Singapore’s enterprises. The primary mission is to address unique challenges and opportunities faced by local businesses and to create an environment conducive for Singapore’s enterprises growth and sustainability.

Active committee members will automatically be transited into the Enterprise Committee by 05 July 2024.

The first thing certain travellers would want to do is to see the revival periods of ancient ruins, great objects of a pilgrimage or walk the trails of the classic past and others.

This is one UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built in 1086 by William the Conqueror, and has over 1,000 years of history. If you’re there again to complete where you had leapt off, beat the crowd by being the early bird to peruse the Crown Jewels, the priceless gem collections of the British monarchies worn over the periods, inside the exhibition halls. Gain interesting insights and hear stories of the tower through the ages from the Yeoman Warders starting from the gate’s entrance, and spot the ravens and know why they are called the guardians of the Tower. I also strolled inside the castle towers and across the towers to see the premise where many executions took place, including the secure fortress, royal palace, and the infamous prison.

The art of wine is when scientists crafted it, the artists perfected it! When the stars aligned, it’s most perfect at sundown to dwell in the spirit of Rosso Verona, in the old world making of nectar Angelorum Hominibus. Made to the style of the Veronese varieties, its expression is rich, powerful flavours with good length and soft tannins.

It’s ok to appreciate a glass of Veronese wine quietly.

No stranger to the F&B scene, this is Ms Veronica Tan, a restaurant veteran renowned for her role in establishing Peach Garden, is now the driving force behind Jia He Chinese restaurant.

I enjoyed some of the main highlights like the Sautéed Stuffed Mushroom with Truffle Sauce and I liked the mangosteen-shaped pork dumpling, in particular - so creative! The Steamed Threadfin Fish is a winner, bursting with flavour from Diced Chillies and Bean Sauce. The Grilled Iberico Pork Ribs and Apple Sauce had that perfect balance of sweet and savoury taste. And for a truly unforgettable experience, don’t miss the Roasted London Duck with Truffle Sauce and Claypot Chinese Sausage and Crispy “Mui Heong” Salted Fish.

To truly appreciate the gastronomic experience is to understand the epitome of Chinese dining at Jia He. Each dish is created around the core idea in sync with ‘harmony’.

And 家和万事兴 translates to ‘When a family is harmonious, everything prospers’. Every dish is a testament to quality and tradition. As Harmony is the essence of success and happiness, so are their handmade dim sum that embodied this spirit with authentic flavours and the finest ingredients used.

This street here where I am walking (in the light rain) is a lively destination, lined up with restaurants, cafes, pubs and souvenir shops and more. If you are in the mood to whip up some delicious food when you’re hosting friends or guests, this is one popular Italian/European store in Soho to pick up fresh Italian products (pasta, olives, deli meats and more authentic Italian products). It’s a wonderful deli to pick up quick bites (if you are keen to spend) like focaccia sandwich with prosciutto..

I’m here to try out the store’s Ubriaco al Prosecco cheese, with a glass of Prosecco in my hand, of course. It’s best served with Prosecco! On the description, it says “The cheese has a floral aroma and flavours are fresh, fruity and vibrant.”

Let me understand a little bit more to appreciate the cheese better. Made from pasteurised whole cow’s milk, the cheese is produced using Veneto’s method traditionalle.

It is also said that during WWI the farmers hid their cheese in large vats of grape musts. Which means to say the local dairy farmers would wet the rinds of the cheeses with the remnant grape skins left from the wine-making process. What results from the process is that the cheese took on the characteristics of one unique Prosecco.

I ate too much of cheese! This is the Seaside smoked and non-smoked cheddar chunks. I tried a lot of brands and one of my favourite is the Sourdough Crackers and Crispbreads from the award-winning brand Peter’s Yard. There are many flavours and textures to choose from and I like to use this range especially for party/gathering/hosting.

What’s so tasty about it? Now having a presence in an artisanal bakery in the UK, following the Swedish tradition, each creation is crafted in small batches using the 45-year-old sourdough starter, and slowly fermented patiently for about 16 hours. No artificial ingredients are used in the process and the brand promises to deliver award-winning taste and a satisfying crunch.

Any starters goes well with a bubbly, white or Prosecco with vibrant stone fruits hints and fresh acidity. Got that vibrant, sharp meteorite feel, 😊.

On a cheese hunt for . This is English blue stilton Paxton cheese is a luxury delight, boasting a rich and creamy, yet soft textured and a delicate, with an intense flavour that packs a medium-to full bodied punch. The finishing is a little salty. One of the more pricier cheese on the market. If you wonder how that beautiful blue veins in the pocket holes of the cheese comes about, it’s the moulds that make this blue Paxton stilton delicious. During Christmas, you can make this into a decadent Christmas cheese, perfect for serving in a pot alongside a glass of Port wine.

This cheese haven now had once transitioned from being cheesemakers to a grocery store. After World War I, the shop temporarily shifted to selling groceries. But they persevered.. by end of World War II, Paxton and Whitfield reclaimed their renowned status in the cheese world. Today Paxton and Whitfield stands on 93 Jermyn street, a prime address at Mayfair, London.
