Floating Machine is what you call "a true musician"; a guitar, piano and sax player who has performed in various "sharp" musical genres from jazz to experimental music. More than a decade ago, he started to produce electronic music in the melodic techno realm, with beautiful melodies and, straight from the beginning, an obvious taste for the deep territories.

From the mid-2010s, his music was getting a wide amplitude, making his work more and more immersive. He started designing electronica releases in the vein (and level) of what Ultimae is doing: beautiful sounds and layers carried by smart beats, thinking for instance of "Wake Seed" on Authors Edition (https://floatingmachine1.bandcamp.com/album/wake-seed) or "Refractions on the Lake" on Mindspring Music (https://mindspringmusic.bandcamp.com/album/refractions-on-the-lake).

Some years later, he turned more and more "hypnotic techno", with for instance "Orvalho" on Circular Limited, containing the codes of the music of some of his heroes, such as Luigi Tozzi, Ness and Formant Value. In parallel, he designed one of the most creative and immersive ambient projects of 2021, "Armadilha" (https://floatingmachine1.bandcamp.com/album/armadilha), showing how much the Portuguese artist is first and foremost a sonic poet.

It's atop this long experience that he came up with the present mix, a masterpiece of electronic music, smooth, melodious and subtly dreamy, with impeccable technique and management of the energy, served with beautiful storytelling. It's simple, we've been screaming with pleasure in every single transition: a perfect mix to represent the "musical or**sm" - shall we dare to say - or at least an amazing add-on to aenean's eclectic podcast.

Intemporal is Tiago, a DJ and cultural instigator from Coimbra since 2013.

As a result of his strong passion for music and persistence in creating moments of union, Tiago has been carving out his identity as a DJ, where the versatility with which he adapts to the dance floor is the great protagonist in his performances, crossing sub-genres and eras of electronic music without losing the common thread.

He is one of the researchers and will share his discoveries this Friday, from 10PM until 1AM at aenean experiment at Arroz Estúdios.

Inês Lamim (LAMIM) is a Lisbon-based DJ. Resident at Purex and 49 ZDB for more than a decade, she has been sharing her findings all over Lisbon or in portuguese festivals like Boom and Forte. Keen with the audience and all sounds hypnotic, crafts techno and more for the ephemeral joy of a collective voyage. She is currently working on her first EP due late this year. This friday she'll join the Art Bei Ton crew.

Teixo is the place where António [ Floating Machine ] and Eduardo [ Imaginary Landscapes ] put together countless hours of music exchange, conversation and creation, within the complicity of a friendship that unfolded over time.
A soft line without pretensions, Teixo comes spontaneously and manifests itself in this format, well rooted in the deepest and most organic aspect of the genre.
They have a release published by the Mexican label Sequencias Temporales, entitled "Till It Takes Off", and they are also part of the collective: responsible for warming up the Arroz Estúdios dancefloor at 7 pm, Friday 24th February.

Mind Archives is Diego, an explorer of deep and psychedelic techno rich in minimalist atmospheres, also known for bringing people and music together at his Aroma Cósmico events from Galicia to Portugal.

The Researchers - Act VI

In the nineties a move to the UK came as a consequence of his studies and with him a pulsating eagerness that helped Lateral Movement, DJ alias of Ricardo, to dive right into the local music culture, effervescent as ever. There he meandered effortlessly through genres, taking him deeper into the arts whilst aiding his curiosity, from free jazz to indietronica. Returning to his homeland, Portugal, subtracted him from this rich diversity and forced him to become a strong supporter of the alternative scene, where he looked to push people and projects that shared his values and vision. There and then he decided to embark on a different kind of journey and took upon himself the responsibility of discovering new music and sharing it with the community.

To this day techno and its many guises are his passion, especially the deeper and hypnotic realms, where ambiance and atmosphere play the main role.

The Researchers - Act V

FONZO is the acidic duo constituted by Telmo and Ricardo Afonso, the two brothers from Viseu known for expressing themselves in a live-act format.

In 2011 they started the project due to their curiosity and desire to explore electronic music where they seek creative freedom in the audiovisual context, strongly influenced by psychedelia and hypnotic soundscapes.

So far, they have released on Portuguese labels such as ELBEREC label or Luscofuscorecords; and more recently on the fresh label which they are also part of, atmos.lab records.

They are a part of the aenean Researchers.

The Researchers - Act III

Floating Machine is António Lourenço, a Portuguese producer within the experimental ambient techno scope.
Influenced by his early years playing instruments like guitar, piano, or sax, in some experimental projects in distinct areas like jazz, funk, or reggae, he absorbed these influences to later start producing and telling the story in his own way in the context of electronic music, making use of it to connect and communicate, taking the listener to adventurous and unpredictable aural journeys.

Boom Festival, Hadra, ZNA Gathering, Shankra, Lost Theory, Transition, and Suti are some of the festivals where Floating Machine has performed.

You can find his music on his personal Bandcamp page, or on labels such as Circular Limited, Aarden rec, Techgnosis, Electrik Dream, Mindspring, and Blind Arc.

The Researchers - Act II

Imaginary Landscapes is Eduardo Vélez, a Mexican DJ and producer based in Lisbon. Very close to experimental electronic music and sound art, IL combines different electronic soundscapes on his sets, always looking for the proper sample or loop to create and reach imaginary atmospheres: an instant into the inner side of music, having performed at Tallera Siqueiros (Cuernavaca, México) alongside Antonio Russek; at Lux Frágil (Lisbon); at Festival Forte; or more recently at Symbiosis (Seville), to name a few.

Eduardo also has a duo project with Floating Machine called Teixo releasing their first EP on Secuencias Temporales, and he’s one of the minds behind the aenean.

The Researchers - Act I

Intemporal is the DJ alias of Tiago , one of the researchers behind aenean. A thrill-seeker that stands out for the versatility with which he crosses different sub-genres and eras of electronics without losing its common thread.
