پچھلے دنوں کسی کام کے سلسلے میں دبئی جانے کا اتفاق ہوا تو ایسا لگا کے میں کسی اور ہی دُنیا میں آگیا ہوں۔ میں یورپ کے ایک ترقی یافتہ ملک سوئیڈن میں سکونت پذیر ہوں مگر دبئی کی ترقی کے سامنے یورپ کی ترقی ماند پڑتی دکھائی دی۔ میں دعوے سے یہ بات کہہ سکتا ہوں کے اتنے کم وقت میں اتنی زبردست ترقیاتی منصوبہ بندی شاید تو کیا یقیناً مغربی ممالک بھی نہیں کر پائے ہوں گے کہ جتنی جلدی دبئی نے اپنے ترقیاتی منصوبوں کو عملی جامہ پہنا کہ تیزی سے ترقی کر لی ہے۔

آسمانوں سے چھوتی عمارتیں، کاروباری سہولیات، سرمایہ کاری کے مواقع، روزگار کی تلاش میں تیسری دُنیا کے تقریباً تمام ممالک کے باشندے جنہیں دبئی نے کسی ماں کی طرح اپنی آغوش میں لے رکھا ہے، سیاحت کے دلدادہ پوری دُنیا سے آنے والے سیاحوں کے لئیے دلچسپی کے تمام لوازمات، غرض یہ کہ سادہ لفظوں میں دبئی میں سب کے لئیے سب کچھ ہے کہنا کچھ غلط نا ہو گا۔

Fawad, who was due to be presented before the court on Monday morning, could not be presented after police cited closure of roads in producing him in time.

With roads closed as part of security measures for the impending visit of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mo- hammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan which was cancelled at the last minute due to rain in Bahawalpur, the police had sought more time from the court to present Fawad.

The court had then directed the police to present Fawad at 3pm.

Fawad was then presented before the court at the stated time after bringing him to Islamabad from Lahore on Monday.

During the hearing, Fawad read out the statement he had made remained steadfast on it.

The court then sent him to jail on judicial remand.

Fawad's counsel, Babar Awan stated that it was beyond his understanding what laptop the prosecution wanted to recover and who were they actually trying to please by treating Fawad in this way.

Later, while speaking to the media as he was led from the court amid chants from PTI's supporters, he said that his "dark night will end soon."

Scientists say they've found a space rock for the ages in Antarctica - an extremely rare meteorite that contains some of the oldest material in the solar system. The 17-pound meteorite, described as about "the size of a gourd," was discovered Jan. 5 by an international team at the end of an 11-day expedition. The extraordinary rock, which contains material from billions of years ago, is one of the largest meteorites ever found on the continent and likely originated in the Main Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter.

President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan postponed his visit to Islamabad today due to bad weather.

Earlier, UAE President was scheduled to visit Islamabad on Monday on a day-long visit.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and federal ministers were scheduled to welcome Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Noor Khan air base.

UAE President Al Nahyan arrived in Pakistan on Jan 25 on a two-leg visit. The first visit was his personal and he landed in the southern region of Rahim Yar Khan where PM Shehbaz Sharif welcomed him.

Mickey Arthur had a contract with Derbyshire county in England, due to which he refused to join Pakistan cricket team but Samaa TV learnt from the sources that Najam Sethi still wanted to hire him for 2023 Cricket World Cup.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday decided to switch off 50 percent lights on city roads under the energy conservation plan introduced by the federal government.

However, all the street lights will remain switched on in residential areas for maximum facilitation of the citizens at night," said CDA spokesperson.

The CDA is on the forefront to make the austerity campaign of the government successful to save energy. In this regard, the CDA has requested the residents of the federal capital to avoid unnecessary use of electricity in their homes so that maximum energy could be saved.

The Meteorological Department has pre- dicted rain and snowfall on the mountains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while moderate to heavy snowfall is expected in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad and Shangla. Rain is expected in the region of Pothohar, Lahore, Gujran- wala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin with a slight possibility of thunderstorm in Sialkot and more chance of moderate to heavy snowfall at a few places in Murree, Galiyat and surrounding areas.

Rain with strong winds and thunderstorms along with partly cloudy weather in Islamabad is also expected and the weather will remain cold and dry in most of the districts of Sindh. Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also likely to experience thundershowers and snowfall.

According to security officials, the su***de attacker was present in the front row during the prayers when he exploded himself, injuring dozens of faithful offering Zuhr prayers.

The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had taken responsibility for the attack.

Sahibzada Noor Ul Amin, Imam of the mosque, was also martyred in the blast, police said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah will leave for Peshawar shortly, according to government sources.

Peshawar Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud said that at least 28 people were martyred and 150 wounded in the blast.

The injured were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital of Peshawar. The hospital has appealed to the citizens to donate blood for the victims.
