Allhamdulilah, it’s my pleasure to announce that our film Talish has won “Best direction” at Gandhara Independent Film Festival. It had a great response from the audience and the jury at the festival. It’s my pleasure to accept this award and thank our incredible team for pulling off a challenging shoot in the scorching deserts of Balochistan. Thank you Zahid Ahmed for giving your all to this character and trusting me with this!

Somewhere on this planet there must be an organism that perceives the Earth in a unique way in comparison to humans. To it, it must be a place full of wondrous unknown and of peril. Within its realm, giants must roam dividing different mediums into “land” or “ocean”. Ever wondered that a human’s ordinary habitat could be a bizarre place for an organism that perceives reality only in two or one dimensions?
Or how an entity that is free from the restrictions of time and space would perceive existence itself?

The Himalayan man

Sunrise in Fort Munro at the edge of the hill in Sulaiman Mountain Range, dividing Punjab and Balochistan.

The Suleman range is named after the Prophet Solomon (A.S), which legend connects with King Solomon's (A.S) visit to Pakistan. Also known locally as “Takht E Suleman” (Throne of Solomon).

A great musical project that included the best musicians of Balochistan with sound recorded on location by the amazing music producer Farhan Zameer and directed by Jaami. Sadly the project was never released.

Wilderness - A Film by Ali Sattar

I have been travelling to Gilgit-Baltistan, home to the Himalayas and Karakorum mountain ranges, for almost ten years. The grandeur and mystique of that place is such that each time you come back you are in a dream like state for the next few weeks. In the summer of 2016, I ventured with a few friends for Astore-Darleh/Rama, Deosai Plains (the Land of Giants), Skardu and Khaplu (little Tibet). I had the fortune of witnessing the Milky Way Galaxy with the naked eye in Rama and fishing fresh water trout in Darleh.
