INTRODUCTION: Hyderabad Welfare Association of the Blind (HWAB) is an organized and recognized self-help movement of the Blind in the area and is registered with department of Social Welfare Sindh under registration No. DO-SW-CDD (H) /793/2007). Institute limitation of access being Blind and with financial constraints; Hyderabad Welfare Association of the Blind has courageous continued its march of progress to achieve the goal of equality to bring about positive change in the life of blind persons successfully. By the grace of God Almighty. These efforts have been concluded into a significant change in behavior and lives of blind community and also changes in the attitude of the society towards the blind. It has been only possible with the help of its donors and well-wishers in the society. VISION: HWAB aspires to create equal opportunities for visually impaired persons so as to enable them to enjoy the same quality of life as their sighted fellow being. MISSION: To empower persons with visual impairment by providing them with services & opportunities for greater participation, involvement and integration into society. AIMS & OBJECTIVES: To encourage blind people of the area to work for their socio-economic advancement and their common good. To uphold the rights of blind people to live as participating and contributing citizens of this country and promote their legitimate interests. To promote communication and understanding among members. To monitoring and /or assess services provided for blind people by Government and non-government bodies, and to present the considered views and recommendations of the Society on matters concerning blind people to the relevant bodies. To work; towards overcoming social barriers and to promote integration between blind and sighted people. To promote sports and recreation for blind people. To promote the general well-being of blind people. To co-operate with other organizations’ to achieve the objectives of the society.
