STATISTICAL COMMUNITY IN EV
GEARS UP FOR THE 33rd NSM IN OCTOBER 2022

To mark the 33rd National Statistics Month (NSM), the statistical community in the region gears up for onsite event this coming October 2022. After two (2) years of virtual celebrations, there will be series of region-wide inter-agency activities that are inclusive, festive, statistically creative, safe and fun for all stakeholders. This year, NSM bears the theme, "Boosting the Country's Recovery with lnformed Decisions, Better Policies", which emphasizes the critical role of statistics in crafting the most appropriate decisions and policies that are needed to boost efforts for recovery.

To kick-off this event, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office VIII (PSA-RSSO VIII) will lead an Information Caravan around Tacloban City on
30 September 2022 enjoining the public, including all departments, bureaus, offices, and instrumentalities of the national government, Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and the private sector to participate in and support the month-long activities.

The 33rd NSM Opening Ceremony will immediately follow at Robinson’s North Tacloban after the caravan. The program will highlight the Keynote Address on NSM Theme, Eastern Visayas in Figures, PhilSys Birth Registration Project (PBRAP) and Launching of the Data Walk and Jam and Data Boulevard. Meanwhile, all Provincial Statistical Offices of PSA will be holding contests, fora and information dissemination campaigns for the whole month of October. At the regional level, among the calendared events are as follows:

1. FB Stats Go! (every Wednesday and Friday of October)
2. Stats Zumbayaw (08 October)
3. Stats-On-Bike (08 October)
4. Learning Statistics: The Fun Way (11-12 October)
5. Inter-High School Statistics Quiz Show (14 October)
6. Virtual Training on Data Visualization Using ggplot (Tentative: 19 October)
7. NSM Tree Planting (TBA)
8. Stats on Web (Judging: 21 October)
9. 2022 Data Festival

ADVISORY FROM DSWD VIII

Bukas, Agosto 27, 2022, ang may appointment lamang mula sa DSWD FO8 at may priority number na galing sa DSWD SubField Offices ang ipo-proseso ng opisina. No walk-in clients shall be processed.

Pina-paalalahanan po ang lahat ng nakatanggap ng appointment text message mula sa DSWD FO8 at ang mga may priority number kung sa DSWD SubField Offices na tiyaking dalhin ng KUMPLETO ang mga sumusunod na dokumento:

1. Isang (1) orihinal at isang (1) photocopy) - Certificate of Enrolment/Registration/school ID/ statement of account;
2. Orihinal at dalawang (2) photocopies ng valid I.D ng parents o guardians (kung menor de edad ang benepisyaryo) OR Orihinal at dalawang (2) photocopies ng valid ID ng estudyanteng aplikante kung nasa legal age na.

Ang valid ID na isusumite ay dapat VALID na ang ibig sabihin, eto ay:
● Hindi expired. Kailangang valid pa sa araw ng pag apply ng Educational Assistance; Kung school ID, eto ay para sa School Year 2022-2023;
● Hindi peke;
● Mainam kung may lagda, maliban kung Philsys ID;
● Mainam kung may larawan

Siguraduhin ding dalhin ang appointment text message na mula lamang sa DSWD FO8 at hindi sa anumang numero. Mag-iingat po tayo sa TEXT SCAMS.

Hinihikayat din ang lahat na hindi na dalhin ang maliit na bata sa venue. Magdala ng pamaypay, maiinom at makakain habang tayo ay pumipila para sa pagproseso ng educational assistance.

Mariin din po naming pinapaalala na sumunod tayo sa minimum health protocols na ipinapatupad upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng virus katulad ng COVID-19.
