The Green ZEAL awards are given by the University to outstanding organizations/ companies/ groups that are able to promote certain advocacies effectively.

DESPERATE CALL FOR HELP AS WE HAVE NO MORE FUNDS! ₱10 FUND DRIVE FOR SWS CONFINED RESCUES!

SWS is once again knocking at your heart for the sake of the growing number of confined rescues we currently have. Despite their dire conditions, we still do not get enough to cover their vet bills. Given that we also maintain hundreds of shelter rescues, it is very difficult without your help.

We first would like to bring them back to good health and eventually find them the perfect new home and family.

In line with this, we would once again request your help with their treatment. In as little as ₱10, we can raise the needed amount as long as many will donate. We pray you do not get tired of supporting these innocent angels!

Rescued kitty Melvin “inspects” the trophy given to PAWS at the 6th Gawad Lasallianeta Green Zeal Awarding Ceremony.

What does being voted for excellence in promoting animal welfare in the country mean?

At PAWS, with the help of communities, professors, students, our very own volunteers, and you, dear Supporters, we are able to push for greater awareness about the animals’ capacity to feel and why they deserve to be treated with kindness and respect.

Our partners believe along with us that resolving animal welfare challenges in the country lies not in political connections nor in kowtowing to powerful groups or industries but in nurturing among young people seeds of compassion. These seeds enable them to rise and speak up for the animals whenever they see injustice.

So in many ways we have much in common with De La Salle Araneta University as it is an institution that seeks to inspire pro-active and long-term positive change in the face of age-old problems plaguing our country.

To Melvin, of course, PAWS is excellent simply because we rescued him from dehydration as a wee kitty and because we continue to give him more than enough treats. 😊

Thank you Gawad Lasallianeta. We are honored to have been given this award and share it with every person who makes an animal’s life better by direct action and by inspiring others to take action. 💕🥰

We also share it with Melvin and our shelter animals - living examples of what can be achieved for more animals in our country when a small group of citizens put their minds to it.
