The 16th PMPC Star Awards for Music, happening on October 27, will see top PPOP acts vying for various honors. SB19 is nominated for Song of the Year with their viral hit "Gento" and Duo/Group Artist of the Year, alongside BINI (BINI_ph), who is also up for Song of the Year with "Pantropiko."

Newcomers BILIB and HORI7ON (HORI7ONofficial) join the race for New Male Group Artist of the Year, while AJAA competes with their song "Hany."

These nominations spotlight the growing dominance of PPOP on the local music scene. In addition to performances and awards, expect a tribute to music legends, with Gary Valenciano and Homer Flores receiving Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The event will air on A2Z on November 9 at 10:15 PM.

After years of training, independent PPOP girl group HALIYA (Haliya PH) released "Ayoko Na" (I Don't Want Anymore) on August 28, 2024, a track that rejects the culture of emotional baggage ("hugot") and promotes positivity.

Formed in 2021 and led by manager Ms. Rose Ariane Pearl P. Lope, the group embodies strength and empowerment, drawing inspiration from the Bicolano warrior goddess, Haliya. The song is available for streaming on multiple platforms.
